Do you get called condescending often?

If I do say something people think I'm condescending or arrogant. If I don't say anything they think I'm either stuck-up, rude, or too stupid to say anything. A lot of people treat me like I'm stupid because I ask questions to find out about what I'm expected to do at work. I get fed up with people who automatically think they know a subject better than I do and even when I say "I know" they continue on talking to me like a six year old. Then if I do open my mouth they are blown away by what I know and think I am a know it all. Then they get mad because they don't like the fact that I do know more about certain subjects than they do. And because I do know more than they have ever heard about that certain subject they tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Or ask me where I got my information. As if I would lie to them.
