Miss Important is very, very cute.

I have a soft, little turtle named Julie, who has been my friend for almost 39 years (I got her on my birthday when I was four). She can't travel much these days, though, she tends to lose her stuffing.

I never, ever leave the house without lip balm and multiple pony-tail holders in my pocket, which I fiddle with continually. I only need one for my hair, but I feel best if I have several in my pocket.

I have to take my Harley Davidson folding knife and my swiss army knife everywhere. If I somehow forget them it really stresses me out.

I mostly carry around useful things and they stay in my car (I drive for a living). Mainly this consists of enough tools to dismantle and reassemble my car from scratch if needed. I also carry around a digital camera, radiological dosimeter, dog whistle, pocket knife, several flashlights, spare fuses and belts, and sometimes a laptop. I carried more around when I used to drive my truck, but sadly the price of gas negated my ability to afford to keep using my long time companion and forced me to switch to my current 3 cylinder mode of transportation.

Wow, I didn't know they made portable tools like that! And all that other stuff - sounds like you were well - prepared for anything that could happen! :)

I like to carry around a digital camera, too - you never know when you'll see something you'll want to capture on film! :)

You'd be surprised just how simple a Geo Metro is to take apart! (Warning: Special interest!) Most everything on it can be taken apart with a set of screwdrivers, 8,10,12,14,17 and 19mm wrenches/sockets and a breaker bar with a 1.25in 6 point socket (for the axles). For reassembly, just add a torque wrench and factory service manual. Also, the engine only weighs 125lbs and can be lifted out of the engine bay without a hoist if you have a strong back. I have torn down a Metro (my parts car) to the point that all of the mechanical parts in the front of the car were removed in less than 2 hours. This was using hand tools. Had I used my air tools I could probably have cut that time in half. It's one of those cars that you should own just once if you love to delve into mechanical things as you'll fall in love with the simplicity.

I also keep tools in my car to fix the cars of other drivers where I work. I am well known for my ability to fix damn near anything that could possibly break. I have fixed anything from A/C systems to water pumps and electrical problems in between deliveries at the pizza place I work at. It also comes in handy to keep the tools in my car for when I go to the junkyard as I have a bad habit of forgetting critical tools and only figuring it out when I get there.

Standard stuff: wallet, keys, writing utensil, phone. These are on me most of the time.

Hello, everyone! :) I had been worried that since Ms. Important came from a Calico Critters Fisher Cat family set (a mother, father, and brother) and was now living with me, that she was lonesome, so I was at a small toy shop in the mall the other day, and found some Fisher Cat baby twins!

I don't think that the babies will be travelling with Ms. Important in my bag along with Dory, Truffles, Susie, and Elizabeth, tho - since they're so young, they'll probably stay at home most of the time. :)

Hello! Sorry for another double post, but my little group of friends has grown since I posted last:

Image

Now, Wreck-It Ralph and Sgt. Calhoun (both from the movie Wreck-It Ralph) have joined the travelling group, and so has Penny Ling from Littlest Pet Shop. :D

There's a bit of a story behind plastic Ralph - I have a Wreck-It Ralph plushie that I really love and find really comforting, but since I can't carry him around with me (he's pretty big) I carry around a small, plastic Ralph toy. :D

Also, Susie (the little blue Car) is kept in a little Hello Kitty coin purse when we travel, so her paper windshield eyes will not be marred, but the little plush Hello Kitty face came loose and fell off awhile back. So, tonight, I sewed it back on!

She's so happy that I "fixed" her house! :D

Wallet, and I make sure I carry a folding knife (can cut binds, i.e., seat-belt, and also for defense).

I'd carry a pistol if it were legal*, O, and a lightsabre if they existed.

*Actually, I don't think it's legal to carry a knife, but eh, they can go to hell

I usually carry my mp3-player with me so I can disconnect from the world's noise at any time, close my eyes and enjoy music.
Additionally to this, I sometimes take my favourite plectrum with me because I like to play around with it with my fingers from time to time and because I like the feeling of it. I never remove it from my pocket when outside though because I don't want to lose it.

And often I force myself to wear my wallet with me, although I think it is an uncomfortable feeling to carry such a big thing with you, but my identity card is in it and I do not remove it from my wallet because I don't want to lose it and some money can always be handy. In case something happens and the police should be present, I have to be able to identify myself. I learned this unvoluntarily when I was witness of an accident where a car hit an old man after school just the day before I was on holidays. The police women questioning me because of the event was friendly though and told me that she will ignore this one time but the next time I should happen to be a witness of something again, I should be able to identify myself with my card.

What I carry around with me in my bag are:-

-Mobile phone
-iPod
-Front door keys
-Handwash
-Lipstick
-Buspass
-Pocket mirror
-Pen
-Money purse
-Bus timetable
-Umbrella

These are what most people (mostly women) carry around with them. :)

Oh right, I forgot the keys...
It was so obvious and normal to me that I didn't list it. That's because I attached them to my jeans and only remove them and attach them to another when the jeans have to be washed...

The stuffed dolphin's name is Dory, the Car's name is Susie, and the Calico Critters kitten's name is Miss Important. She is called that because my therapist gave her to me today to serve as a reminder that regardless of what I look like, how much I weigh, and whatever mistakes I make, I am still an important person. I have trouble believing that sometimes.

And so I was wondering - does anyone else have a favorite object (like a plushie, something to keep one's hands busy, or even a smartphone or Ipod) that they like to carry around with them in their hands, pockets, or in a bag? My three little guys mostly stay in my bag; I don't really take 'em out...I just like knowing they're there. :)

There is a lot of things such as a cell phone, pencils and paper my personal hygiene stuff and even my clothing that I take with me all of the time that are necessities and these items don't comfort me either. They just make things easier for me and have no special interest for me. However, I take my special Diecast Backhoe loader toy with me for comfort and security. So kudos for you for knowing the difference between things of necessity and things that comfort and gives security. However, unlike you I do take my toy out and sleep with it as well as stim with it. What is the use of taken it if it is just going to be left all alone in a bag for the most part.

BTW, your toys would make great bed mates giving you even more security when in a hotel or at a friends since you have given them names and maybe a personality like I have my diecast backhoe loader toys. I have a name and have given them a gender and a personality to everyone of them. Your toys are speaking to you for more closeness. But, I guess I'm more down on the Autism Spectrum than most here who don't really understand about this kind of stuff. Sorry.

I always have my backpack and in it is
-my current sketchbook
-smaller bag with pencils, drawing markers, erasers, x-acto knife, and other small bits
-one or two art magazines
-a book
-my small case of paint brushes
-digital camera
-watercolor travel paint set
-gauche travel paint set
-full sized headphones and my ipod
-beanie
-a couple of extra hair ties (the main one is usually around my wrist, but I am good at forgetting it after a shower or whatnot so extras are quite necessary.)
-two tobacco pouches with pipe tobacco (one with Captain Black Royal one with a nice Burley)
-a smoking pipe or two
-marijuana and a small glass chill-um
-bottle of black drawing ink
-extra pair of socks
-pads, books, or blocks of watercolor paper
-my laptop and power cord (if I am going to be at the studio or other place for the whole day. if I am just out and about it stays home.)

I tend to collect things I see in the road so as a result occasionally the bag gets stuffed to the brim and some of the metal objects poke through. It's time for me to get a leather one

Are you riding a dirtbike or motorized bike a lot? =)
My lil 50cc takes 2 cycle oil and you know how the spark plugs can go.
Sometimes i have to put a lil gas on the spark plug... all this reminds me i gotta do a carb clean.

I guess the objects would vary depending on where i am going or what i'm doing.
If i am stuck going to in laws house for Holidays then i usually bring a laptop and sketchbook, psp, book, god forbid. Yet i usually end up pacing or i hide in a corner on the computer.

If i am going somewhere on my bike, i have a cell phone (emergencies) a pocketknife, lighter, cigs, a wrench in case i need to get a tire/rim off a junk bike.
In the car i usually have cigs, lighter, pocketknife, cell.
My NT actually has the wallet with my id and all in it...

Usually my thing is i make necklaces and wear them when i go out. I have different ones with various different "milagros" that i have put on them. These i wear for good luck i think and to keep me safe. I know it sound a little loopy. Yet i won't leave the house without one on.

I'm another one who loves the bulk trash day when folks throw out neat things. Some might be still good, useful, to use to fix something or make art. (i am not talking about household wastes like food garbage). Even decent wood, if i see it on the bike, i'll go home to get the car to grab it. I got tired of towing things on a longboard from the bike lol
