I don't want to hijack his thread.
I'll make a new one on Monday.
I would like to hear how your birthday went/is going though, Archmage.

I had a couple of friends come over, and we went bowling. Cassandra beat me and my friend John in ALL THREE GAMES! My Birthday cake wasn't really a cake, but a giant chocolate-chip cookie in a cake dish.
My gifts included two GBA games, F-Zero GP Legend and a remake of the first Legend of Zelda, and 75$ worth of cash and checks from various people. It was quite fun.

Happy birthday, Archmage!
I had almost forgotten how much I wanted the freedom of driving my own vehicle when I was around your age. As an adult, you rarely think of how constrained people are when they don't have access to their own transportation. About a year after you start driving your own vehicle, you'll probably begin to view driving as just another annoying chore, especially if you live in an area with a lot of traffic.
Try not to be too reckless when you turn 16. I racked up three accidents between my 16th and 17th birthday due to my overly aggressive driving habits (one of them wasn't my fault, at least). I have become far more conservative since then, and I haven't had another wreck so far. Keep in mind that car accidents are the most significant cause of death for people your age.

Don't worry. I have some experience of road etiquette from my electric scooter. And besides, my new racing game will teach me some things.
