Not so much a safe place as a safe circumstance: that of being alone, away from the physical presence of people.

When I was a child, I had a big shelf in the clothes closet that was my safe spot. I kept my cherished stuff there, my toys and would curl up to sit there often after school.

My bed/bedroom is my safe spot. Sometimes I wish I space within it that was smaller but if I close the door and close the blinds most of the time that is good enough. On occassion I will lay under my bed if its one of those days.

My bed. Whenever I watch a DVD or video or something on my laptop, I always have to get into bed, whether it's day or night.

Being in my bed in my bedroom is also my safe spot. Sometimes I close the door. But, I always have my 2 favorite objects with me.

My recliner in the family room. I'm very Archie Bunker-esque with it. If one of the kids is sitting in it, I just give a look and they move.
