I never obsessed over anything that was harmful to my person. However, if I had to choose the most harmful thing I have ever obsessed over it would probably be nuclear war. I learned how the weapons worked and also fell in love with videos of above ground nuclear testing. I then spent time learning about the culture of the atomic age as well as collecting a few curios from US OCDM fallout shelters that I bought on E-Bay. I still want to collect some things from the Soviet side too, but they tend to be out of my price range.

copper sulphate (ink/dye mordant that I use, which turned out to be very toxic and archivally unstable...but oh it's such a gorgeous shade of blue!)

A person. (My best friend to be exact) The highs are high but the lows are almost unbearable. Still dealing with it and if this one fails I'm vowing to never go through this type of thing ever again. Word of advice: NEVER let a person become a special interest if you can help it. I wasn't actively trying to make my best friend a special interest, it just happened. Sometimes it can feel very one sided and it drives me to the brink of despair.

Malachite green, safranin and cotton blue stains are nice colours. Always wondered if they could be used as a stable fabric dye.

There was a time when I was 9 that I was obsessed with Nightmares. That obsession didn't last very long. I moved onto something else very quickly.

Same. If it's a singer, it's ok. But not when it's a friend. That was awful.

I guess body image, which led to full blown Anorexia Nervosa. Although I don't regret that for a second.
A person would be the worst (3 times in a row over the years, always ending mega badly).

I guess I have had obsessions turn unhealthy in the past i.e I was too absorbed by them to come out of them. Some of them turned pretty bad and I couldn't come out of for years. I was too occupied by certain things like video games and relationships the most as a teenager.

I was going to say "autism" as a half-joke, but to be honest I think games like Civilization and World of Warcraft have been the bane of my existence.
