I posted before about how a former bully apologized when we were in college as that particular person only participated out of fear of becoming a target of bullying if he didn't participate. At the time, I didn't even remember that person, but I did accept his apology. Once that person apologized, they left me alone and I left them alone. There are other former bullies that if they sent me a Facebook friend request, I would report them as bullies before blocking them.

A lot of former bullies would probably act nice and pretend like they were always that way. That's kind of a "cheap trick" because they only act like jerks when it actually means something like in high school for example. Then when you run into them years later they pretend to be friendly since it obviously doesn't matter anymore either way. :?

I would hate them even more if they said that unless they actually made attempts to right the wrong. It's one thing for the ringleaders: they usually had terrible home lives and don't fully realize what they are doing. The 'followers' KNOW what they are doing is W-R-O-N-G and they still did it. Sorry, I won't accept the Nuremburg Defense as an excuse. It literally would have taken 1 or 2 people to stand up and the bullying would have stopped but nobody did in my case.

I'm glad that you didn't back down. :)

I don't think I could be so brave!

I strongly agree that playing the "Nuremburg Defense" is not a "get out of jail free card", if anything crimes commited as part of a mob should be punished with greater vigor than ordinary misdeeds. My revenge on my tormentors is for me to ignore them totally and act as if they do not exist. So far none of them have attempted to contact me, frankly their failure to contact me has not troubled me one slightest bit.
