That just because you find it hard to figure out other people's emotions/feelings, it must mean you don't care about them.

That we have no sense (or understanding) of humour.

I know this myth isn't necessarily a bad myth but I also don't like how a lot of people assume that all people with AS have a super high IQ. I don't, I'm around the average point. Yes, I do excel at certain things but I actually need help with a lot of other things as well that I'm not so good at.

On the opposite side of that some people think that everybody with AS are mentally ret*d with a very low IQ. I can't stand that either because it's not obviously not true and everybody has their strengths and weaknesses.

we don't understand fiction, ever; don't like fiction, ever; and we can't write creatively.

Many people with Aspergers have low muscle tone, Aspies are more likely to be weak.

Agreed. A large percentage of the reason I'm cautious of telling people, is because of this.

That everyone with Aspergers can memorize the entire telephone book, or is a genius on some level.

I hate that one! Totally disproved by the fact that at least three people on my Creative Writing PhD course have AS...

It's overdiagnosed. I was tempted to point out that when this person was at school, (around the 1950s / 1960s I think) that people with AS were ignored (and possibly diagnosed with other stuff?) and expected to just get on with it.

Low muscle tone doesn't mean weak though, it has to do with how floppy muscles are. It's harder to get strength with low muscle tone, but you can be strong and still have low muscle tone.

I've encountered those who think that everybody with AS has a low IQ, as I've had people talk to me as if I were a child, even though I have an average IQ, but I'm not exactly a genius either. One thing is that I don't fit the myth that people with AS are great at math, as algebra and higher math were the hardest subjects for me in school.

People with Aspergers are more likely to be emotionally weak than physically weak. Anybody can be physically weak, it depends on how much you do to build your muscles, it's got nothing to do with neurology, unless you have things like Cerebral Palsy or other conditions like that, but those are more physical conditions, where as Aspergers is more of a mental condition and only affects physical things like sensory issues (mostly with ears), or bad posture, but that is caused by how the brain works, but how you're naturally built. So, yeah, I think it's a stupid myth.

Because I walk fast, I feel my muscles in my back legs (below my knees) are quite broad, which is good because at least then I can run faster. But the muscles in my arms are very small, but I never thought that was anything to do with Aspergers. I thought it was because I didn't like sports at school, and found it hard to swim, and so didn't really give myself much chance to build my muscles in my arms. Also I know other people (especially women) who are weak in the arms anyway.

The physical weakness may be more true if the individual has other conditions that express themselves with low muscle tone, has sensory issues regarding the optimal amount of force to use when picking up objects (using too little, making it appear as though they aren't strong enough to pick up said objects), or is unable to properly coordinate the muscles in their bodies, giving them the appearance of being clumsy or weak.

For me, the most irksome ones are:
An inability to have imaginative play or be "creative." (Teachers said I have an amazing imagination when it comes to art, and writing assignments). I have always been quite imaginative while playing as a child.

That's probably my weakest point as well, math. *shudders*

What annoys me the most is people who've watched 'Rainman' once and use Dustin Hoffman's character as a cookie cutter model for how they think all autistic people are supposed to behave.

These people should watch the Temple Grandin movie by Clare Danes. It gives a far more realistic version of common autism and AS.
