When I still drank I used to have to drink to manage the party, now I don't drink I don't go to parties.

I don't particularly like going to parties as it doesn't appeal to me.

The food and drink. Otherwise parties have no redeeming qualities for me.

Hum! It's been a while... But what I liked (and I even hosted some) was having a few people I liked, even loved... Ah!.. Usually something like 5 up to 10 persons (is that big enough to qualify as a party?)... We'd have a supper, talk... While I'm not very good at talking with many people at a time, I enjoy listening. And I like getting in a conversation with one person. Since I would be the DJ, or else we had similar tastes, the music was not a problem. And I love dancing like crazy, not in high heels but feet naked... I dance alone - never could dance those dances you dance as a couple... But I loooooooove it. Can do it for hours. Endorphins. Again. Best drug ever.

My special interest is People, so that is what I love about parties. I love sitting back either by myself or with a close friend I have brought with me, and just analyse everyone. It fascinates me!! I also love the party food ;) I am not afraid to leave early when I have had enough. There is plenty I also dislike about parties, but those are the things I enjoy about them :)

Funny... I can't eat food at parties. Even though it's likely as "clean" as restaurant food or even moreso - I feel it's dirty and I can't eat it.

I think people have parties so they have an excuse to see each other and BS and gossip meaning chit chat. It's also a get together too. I have been to ASD parties and lot of people aren't normally there. Its just food and video games and movies. I think kids have birthday parties so they can get presents. I had one once when I was nine and I didn't like it. I got too overwhelmed from the noise and chaos.

But parties for me are just a way to have something to do and I bring my own fun with. I can always go to the quiet room if the music is too loud and people too.

I think parties are reminders of what Hell probably is. Noise, dancing, alcohol (and drunk people), body odor and/or excessive perfume, flashing lights in dark rooms, "in-crowd" popular people (aka bullies), weird foods that cause gas & diarrhea; not to mention fattening and down right poisonous in some cases..... Need I continue?

Cake - with horrible, thick icing - a rare indulgence. I do not enjoy parties and I avoid them - it has to be a serious social obligation to go. However, if you were to define a party as a dance - I like to dance. If I can keep moving and avoid sitting down with people, I am happy. But, I really don't have that chance anymore. I dance at home - usually to really loud ABBA - so, I make my own party. I think it is fun - I can dance all I want, be home, and thoroughly enjoy myself - win-win. :D I suppose I could even buy a cake once in a while.

Now that you mention it, this is what bothers me the most at parties!

Though I am not a partier by a long stretch, I can say the only thing I would like is if there was free food, beverages (preferably with non-alcoholic options for the non-drinkers and the underaged) and industrial music. Also, the less people, the better.

Industrial and Deathcore at parties equals win!
