It's so much easier when you have an obvious disability to be noticed and included, although that can have its bad side.
I have a friend who is blind who get included because people would feel bad if they didn't include him, even if it's inconvenient.

You can't see ASD. Therefore, nobody feels bad about treating you like crap.

Also lots of NTs feel that you need to be taught a lesson / punished for your behavior (they don't know it's caused by AS). So they exclude you, because for an NT like themselves, exclusion is a huge punishment and teaches them what never to do again.
