Speak to your university disability office. I know that where I work some adjustments (definitely including permission to record lectures) can be put in place while seeking/awaiting diagnosis. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Are you seeking a diagnosis?

My husband is a lecturer (in Sweden) and it was his idea to get a diktafon. He bought one for me because I have trouble focusing and frequently tune out of meetings and stuff. Ask your university and see what they say. The only thing to really be aware of is that recording secretly is unlawful in Sweden.
