I started to do it but quit pretty fast. The images disappeared before I could even see all three and tell if I saw anything.

They disappeared too quick for me as well, I had to guess a lot of the time, because of that.

On the faces in the branches one I think I waited for it to time out half of the time because I had no clue which the face was on. It was obnoxiously slow.

I got pretty average results for the first two tests.

However, I simply pressed "1" on the first test most of the time because I couldn't detect a face and alternated between "1" and "2" on the second test. There should have been an option for "no idea". Alas, I don't think random button pressing means my results are valid.

Too many details in faces, I have no instant-zoom-on-faces like normal people, too many distractions in these sets of three pictures -> sensory/visual overload for me

Face In The Fence - 97

That one worked for me and completely unlike the first two tests felt fairly easy because of the fewer visual distractions in the pictures. (Just had to look for a bunch of "somethings" that looked out of place.)

If you waited 15 seconds (which felt really really really long), then it eventually said that you took too long to answer, and made you click okay, and then the next one popped up. At least for the first test.

I agree on the second test. I had a whole lot of "I have no clue"s. And I tended to repeat the last one that I had known for that I noticed, until I saw another one that I had at least a guess for.

I felt like I was guessing a lot on face in the branches. Face in the fence was easy, because it was like a spot the difference test. Face in the branches required processing lots moar stuff that was similar to things on faces, like all that warped stuff that looked like teeth to me. I didn't know that there was a lag time for answering. I pressed the buttons immediately after the pictures flashed.

I'm surprised by the disparity between people's scores on the "Face in the Fence" and "Face in the Branches" sections. I didn't even realize they were different. When "Face in the Branches" started I became frustrated because I thought the test had restarted.

We'd have to see the actual data. Keep in mind that median and average are not the same thing.

Did you happen to notice that this was the only avg. score out of the 3 subtests that remained consistent among the results posted on this thread? The samples are in the thousands.

In the case of this test they should be calculating averages like they would for an IQ test considering they give a mean score rather than a median score for comparison. If you scored 101 on the WAIS would you expect to be in the 20-30 percentile (more than 1 SD from the average?

Face In The Branches - In this test, you were asked to detect the one image out of three presented that contained a face, presented briefly at various sizes. Your score was 53. The average score is 60.79. You scored higher than one out of every ten people who took this test.

Old-New Women - In this test, you were asked to learn and recognize a set of female faces. This is a test of face learning ability. Your score was 44. The average score is 38.97. You scored higher than five out of every ten people who took this test.

Face In The Big Branches - In this test, you were asked to detect the one image out of three presented that contained a face, presented at various sizes for various times. Your score was 91. The average score is 90.54. You scored higher than three out of every ten people who took this test.

On the first and third I usually just guessed 3 when I couldn't see the faces, and I would say I guessed on the majority of both.

On the faces test, I kept track of specific facial features - nose or mouth specifically.
