Politicians are everything I completely hate about the human race. Constantly lying, power-drunk, pretending to care, spending billions of dollars on war but won't help poor, sick, or disabled people in their own country. Screw them. :x

With me politics has become my narrow interest. And I must not be alone as this forum has an entire section devoted to this sort of thing. I feel that the problem for aspiring political figures whom are on the autistic spectrum is that a number of us , myself included , hold ideologies that are outside the mainstream . This is especially an issue for those in the U.S. The range of opinion in this country ranges from center - right conservatism (more like liberal conservatism /classical liberalism ) to center - left social liberalism . So anyone who's outside this political spectrum must reduce his or her positions to the lowest common denominator , in order to appeal to the widest constituency , in order to be an electable , viable candidate. So , for instance , since I know that an Eurocommunist like me could never succeed in garnering a solid base of support , for obvious reasons , I would have to tone it down to mere social democracy. And similarly , an autist , or anyone really , who espouses a right-wing ideology that differs from the prevailing liberal conservatism , such as for instance national conservatism , would have to not be so forthcoming about the exact basis of their agenda. In various European countries though , there is a wider range of political views and parties . So there is more opportunity for different persons to run for office , without having to sell out their principles by compromising with the centrist conventions.
