Some words between 8-11 months.
Talking very good, with fluency, between 2 or 3 years.

My first word was "Dada" at eight months. I never babbled. I had a 10-15 word vocabulary at 2 1/2, and some were words or phrase I only said once. My form of autism causes more expressive than receptive language delays, and I also have ataxic cerebral palsy--it settled in my face, and absolutely did not help at all with my speech! I went to speech therapy for a decade, but by the time I was five, I remember I was talking in complete sentences (I think?).

I spoke single words when I was about 2, but didn't talk much. A few months later I spoke in sentences. Within the norm.

I started speaking when I was 1 or so, although I had mispelling problems until 5 years old, but nothing important (I only pronounced the letter "c" as a "s") .

When I was between 2 and 4-5, I couldn't say st, so 'stone' would become 'tone'. It also took me a little while to say 'r' (but I managed that sooner than 'st'). I didn't like the 'r' sound, it could be so harsh.

I don't have a clue, but I can never remember a time when I didn't talk or had any sort of difficulty talking. The same goes for reading, actually. I remember being really young and my mom reading to me pretty much every single day. I guess eventually I just started associating the words i saw on the page with the words I heard her say and I just picked it up on my own.

I babbled until the age of five, then my sentances came out backwards. Of course it was blamed on the fact I was born deaf in my left ear.

This was the late 1960s England, back when savants were known as idiots and shock treatment was the norm.

On my first b'day my parents friends were surprised that I could communicate in full sentences. Because of which my mom taught me to read and write very early. My sister was faster than me she started speaking earlier than me and taught herself to read and write by 2 years of age. She started going to school very early.

According to my parents, I didn't speak for the first time until I was 4 years old and my first words were a couple of 2-word sentences. Those words were as follows: "Bye bye. Feed fish."

My parents told me that I didn't speak until I was almost 3. After that, I would only speak to family members, but I was almost mute around other people.
