In sense of removing a lot of the preamble normally attached before a request; sure, that would probably make things easier.

This is one of the reasons I prefer to interact with my boss and fellow employees at work over the 2-way radio. Because of how the radios work, there is no superfluous chatter. So, for example:

fellow employee, let's call him 'B1,' would like me, 'A1,' to meet him in a particular location in five minutes.

The way the conversation would go over the radio is:
B1 - "B1 to A1"
A1 - "go ahead"
B1 - "could you meet me at location Y in five minutes?"
A1 - "10-4" (radio term for general affirmative)

In exactly the same situation, if this conversation was done over the phone instead, it would be something like:
A1 - "Hello?"
B1 - "Hi, it's B1."
A1 - "Hi"
B1 - "Are you busy?"
A1 - "No"
B1 - "Okay, I need some help over at location Y, would you be able to meet me there in five minutes?"
A1 - "Okay"
B1 - "thanks, see you in five minutes"
A1 - "okay. bye."
B1 - "bye"

My point here is that if normal person to person communication was more like 2-way radio chatter than the less efficient regular way, I would like that.

Either one is fine. If I don't get the hint, then say what you mean.

Not necessarily like a robot (that would be a bit too much), but I would like people to say what they want in a simple and direct manner.

I think I prefer, 'You may sit down, if you wish to". With a close person, then the formalities and pleasantries may be omitted; I like people to just get to the point. But with people I am not close to or do not know, I prefer a polite interaction, but without 'commands'. I can tolerate the rhetorical questions (most of the time), because I have learnt that is a NTs way of interfacing with their kind, which is acceptable to them and after all, I am a minority.

I do have to chuckle to myself though, with all the strange customs I am faced with. I often think to myself, "what the heck was that all about?", "Are they for real", "I just cannot believe how they dance around a point".

It depends on the situation. When it's little stuff i can mostly get it but it may take a while.

I do have one question where I'm not sure what people mean.

When I'm somewhere, a gathering, a friends house, a party, most people ask
"Do you want to drink something?"
I always answer with "no" when i'm not thirsty.
But thinking about it I'm always the only one who does this.

Is this a rhetorical question or is everyone just always thirsty?

Hell no, I wanna be a robot. Artificial parts can stave off my inevitable death and give me super strength, enhanced vision, increased memory capacity, whatever. Plus I can integrate a large variety of weapons into my body, change my appearance easily... there's so much that I haven't even thought of.

Since I'm a cyborg, I'd have to go with the closest thing and select option B>being treated like a robot<

operationpaperclip, you are right on. If I had it my way, I'd look much like a servitor ("armed" with the heavy bolter) in Warhammer 40K:

Oh, and don't forget one of those fancy target acquisition devices that replaces one of the eyes. That's been on the list for a while.
