uhm no...? I see it more as my inability to connect to people because it's not a scripted action, and the general population's inability to understand that NOt everyone likes TOUCHING.

I don't know what it is, I have often thought that because I have big eyes and a roundish face that this is why babies seem to stare at me so much. At times they have been transfixed. I seem to draw a lot of baby attention!
Could it be that they do this to everyone and because prolonged eye contact makes me feel so uncomfortable that this is why I notice it, or is it some weird phenomenon?
Haha I have a round face as well. But babies like to stare at me because I have pink and blue hair.

Sure, but I don't think I attract their gaze anymore than the average person. Kids stare at everybody all the time. Unless of course I am wearing my orange sneakers or my bright blue winter jacket. Children's eyes are drawn to those clothing items for the same reason I bought them: "oooh colourful".
Yes, they do stare at me. But maybe it's because I look at them a lot too, I like babies. I think babies/little children are even more open about staring than NT adults are, which is why it can be daunting for some I guess.

I've come to a conclusion: no they don't. Only sometimes, but it's not all the time. I've seen babies stare around at everyone in general, and maybe stare hard at somebody who is giving them attention like smiling and waving. But often babies and toddlers don't stare at me.

When I was younger I had this odd ability to stop babies from crying. I would be out shoppoing food with my mom. And just getting babies attention by looking at it. And they would stop crying. Is was pretty wierd.

NTs act how they want to feel/seem, not like Autists or children who act based on how they feel. This is why NTs seem terribly artificial to children, and why the children often like Autists more.
I've known people who seem to have babies and toddlers stare at them all the time...not myself, I only get the occasional child doing this which annoys me because at their age (normally around 8 years old) they should know better than to stare like that, but given the behaviour of many children and their parents round here obviously no one teaches manners any more.

This is weird because I thought I had some special talent, I'm like the kid and baby whisperer....kids and dogs seem more comfortable around me than other people, which is what I'm told. Some people say I have an "old soul" and somehow this relates to being a baby whisperer. Personally, I love kids and dogs.....
I sense neediness (without judging neediness as good or bad) Perhaps I myself am needy.
