She DOES kind of grow on you. Look at her till your eyes almost cross, and she does look kind of cute. Yeah, I think it is a girl also. The most unpleasant feature is probably the nose(I think the stare I mentioned kind of blends that in so it no longer stands out) And HEY, I tend to like small noses, what can I say.

Interesting. About the only thing I did to the reconstruction was to enlarge the nose and change hair-color slighty.

I doubt that nose-shape can be determined from only bones. That's a reason why I enlarged the nose. A large nose seems to be an effective adaptation to cold.

Yes, such things are not good. Neither is it good when reconstructions are showed without hair and such. They really look freaky.
Some other things that should be changed:
1. The mouth should be "Mobious-like".
2. Lips should not be full, but should be Caucasian-like.
3. She should have redish fur, except in the face.
4. She should have red/auburn hair
5. She should have hazel eye color.
6. She should have a small mouth
If there is some artist around here that want to change these features, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Oh, yes

YIKES! And to top it all off, I have a small mouth too. What exactly do you mean by "Mobious-like"?
I think it is interesting that you are giving her caucasion features. ALSO, asians and blacks, have historically had brown eyes and black hair. Whites eyes/hair have run the whole spectrum. Are you saying those are neanderthal features?
ALSO, I read an article once that claims there are basically 4 genes for eyecolor. brown(and intensity), blue(and intensity)! It claimed that the mix provided the final result. Interesting idea, although I don't know how it explains my eyecoloring. I recently saw a picture of me when I was five. I had perfect vision, and my pupils have always been reactive, but the lighting and quality give an effect to my eyes that make them look like the picture was taken in utter darkness.

Have a look here for instance (picture B and C):

Seems like it should be spelled Moebius. There is an whole syndrome called Moebius syndrome that consists of a long range of physical abnormalities, including the Moebius mouth. Moebius is a frequent characteristic of autistics.

Absolutely. The original reconstruction was built by a professional upon a Neanderthal child skull, so it is as correct as it possibly could be based on the pros own perceptions about traits we know nothing about. I'm just adding to the appearances I think is likely should be Neanderthal. Any racial difference between Caucasians and Africans is likely to be hybrid traits.

I don't know about the latter. It is currently my hypothesis that there were two different "brown" colors. Blue is simply the lack of both colors.

Granted, I just kind of scanned it(A german article on Moebius Syndrome). Maybe I should start reading more german. 8-( I misspelled syndrome, and ended up with GERMAN sites! But it seemed to indicate a kind of facial paralysis, almost if all the muscles are there and usable, but NOT for expression. So a puzzled look, laughing, smiling, etc... Are difficult or downright impossible. The english sites indicate this also affects the ability to do things like suck, or control the eyes properl.
Even some people here that seemed to indicate that kind of affliction ended up showing that they at least had the capability. I guess that COULD account for the vacant stare complaints some say they have had.
As for me, I find it just about impossible to do a complete proper smile. I have a picture of me smiling at 4, like A but with a closed mouth, and one at 5, that my mother says she likes the best, with my teeth, but it really isn't a smile, even if it looks kind of like one. It looks like picture B! I DO have a little larger mouth, teeth, and more color, so it looks a LOT better than B though! My other pictures don't really show smiles. I don't think that has so much to do with nerves, as with the structure of my mouth. My dentist(actually a few) told me I have a small mouth and large teeth.
As for other expressions, I DO know I struggled on my own to do things like blink either eye independently.
I know that a number of things took more work than one would expect. I don't think anybody else has heard this before.
I struggled a little bit with the proper and inverse aaronic benediction(aka vulcan salute) with my right and left hands, but I guess EVERYONE has trouble with that. The queen couldn't do it, so she kept her hand like that, and raised it in one show!
BTW I STILL can't easily do the inverse vulcan salute with my left hand.
FUNNY, the things we try to do sometimes, huh?

WOW! Although, the neanderthals WERE found in Germany. In the neander valley(thal=valley).

So how do you account for green, grey, and none, or even other shades of brown?

The whole syndrome seems to be the result of some major gene-incompability-issues, and thus is not too interesting. However, some of the distinct traits, like the mouth and possibly the high palate should be pure Neanderthal traits.

Yes, the stare is very likely to be of Neanderthal origin as well. I've had that in Aspie-quiz, and it is strongly correlated with ASDs.

Interesting. I might check that trait out.

I think the most important thing is that non-Caucasians only have *one* hair-color and *one* eye color. It is pretty low chance that Caucasians mutated some entirely new hair or eye color. Therefore, all the variation in Caucasians must be attributable to either pure Neanderthal traits or the admixture of African and Neanderthal traits or the African traits themselves.
Green seems to be caused by "spots".
RDOS....Does high palate refer to the fact that I can fit several cough drops in the space between my palate and tongue?I havent looked in many mouths but it that as AS thing?Any links to pics of high palate?I have always wondered if this was a deformity.

I don't have a good way of really accurately measuring my cleft to tounge distance, but I estimate it is about 25mm(about 1 inch) That is from the highest part towards the front. Towards the back, there is a part that is probably a good 3+mm larger.
Anyway, I could fit a lot of cough drops that way also. Why would you only expect to have one?

I wonder. Blacks USED to look different for the most part, and it is painfully obvious that they and asians have been isolated from a lot of foreign influence(until relatively recently). You can see that in the language(several things), culture, appearance, etc.... For some reason, whites spent most of their early existance picking on whites. General history indicates the average scandinavian had blond hair, light eyes, fair skin, and the average italian had darker eyes and dark hair. The irish I guess had mostly red hair, etc... Even taking just this little bit of info into account, the fact that the romans and scandinavians and later the british went out and counquered a lot of places creates a lot of diversity.
I doubt ANYONE knows all that happened, but isn't it possible that much of the studies are clouded because they grouped everyone into 4-5 races based on primarily skin color?
Maybe EACH group only had one eye color, but the political influences changed it primarily with whites.
