I do experience anxiety and it can be severe at times. I haven't had as much over the past year or so as Zoloft has effectively treated it. I still experience some, but not very frequently.

Right now the most anxiety-inducing thing for me is deciding which series I want to watch on Netflix. Since they are shows I haven't seen I keep getting stopped by the fact that I do not know if I will enjoy them or what will happen when I watch them. I ended up rewatching Red Dwarf because it's familiar and not anxiety inducing.

I don't have generalized anxiety disorder. School stress and most other stress doesn't usually push me over the edge. I do suffer from social anxiety though. I am often afraid to be assertive around people. Social issues have caused me to be depressed in the past, while day to day stress like homework is just annoying.

Always. While I do have a lot of social anxiety, a lot of it is just being constantly bombarded from the world around me. When I get the chance I cocoon myself in a nest of blankets in a quiet room, and shut the world out for a while.

Yes, especially after my house had 6 break in attempts in 6 months at one point. Needless to say it's no longer very managable.

I don't know whether or not I have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety over change does effect my life immensely. Sometimes, it feels like I can't adjust to change at all. I used to be more rigid as a kid; unfortunately, I believe my ability to adapt to change has reached it's potential.

I interpreted this question to be "Do you have a lot of anxiety?", not literally "Do you have generalized anxiety disorder?".

You are very likely an Aspie

i suffer i think from generalized anxiety disorder.
when i have nothing to worry about, i start to worry about my health. it seems that i must worry about something no matter what it is. i do not accurately know why i worry all the time, but i suspect it stems from when my mother died, and later, when my father died.

i can not imagine having no power so i can not imagine dying, and sometimes that thought drives me insane.
whatever goodnight to you.

I don't think that 91% of ppl with ASD have general anxiety, especially not GAD.
That there is a much higher rate, yes, but not nearly that high! 8O

I don't have it...!
I have sometimes some anxiety, yes, but that's caused through depression. In those moments when the depression goes away, also the anxiety goes away.
Anxiety and depression are highly connected.
So for me, there is no need for an anxiety diagnosis, because if I would have GAD, it would stay when my depressions dissapear, what's not the case.
Maybe some mix it up...? :?

I suffer pretty often from anxiety and probably should get some kind of medication. But my anxiety is really high everytime I go in a doctors office because the last doctor was pill happy and just about ruined my health and he have blown me off too many times. I stopped all of my meds because I lost confidence in him and quit going about 3 years ago.

Now I have a new doctor which is worse than the one before this one trying to find as much as he can wrong with me just so he can prescribe medicine despite me telling him the issues I have with them. He is very insistant and won't even listen to my issues. His nurse can't get my height right either which they may have done on purpose to give me meds for bone density and the way they took my blood pressure caused me to go into high anxiety. This new doctor is still wet behind the ears. I have told him about my anxiety issues after they had trouble getting a reading on me which according to their equipment was 160/100. I think there is something wrong with their equipment because I had a blood pressure gauge I just threw away because it was doing the same thing since this new doc had me checked my blood pressure. To add more anxiety he criticized me for taking blood pressure readings at home and insisted that their equipment is right and mine is wrong. He didn't think I was capable of taking my own blood pressure. He probably wasn't even born yet, when I started using a blood pressure gauge.

I had an older doc who passed away. I really love this doctor because he knew his business and he wasn't pill happy trying to find everything he can. He was gentle and he knew how to communicate with me making me very comfortable. So I went from a great situation with this doc into the frying pan with the next doc just to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire with this new doc.

Is it any wonder why my anxiety was so high? So I will be looking for an older doctor that will listen to me. :wall:

I suffer from General Anxiety. I have an "anxious" personality.
