I usually wear a jacket or hoodie with pockets because I like to put my hands in them. Putting my hand in my jeans pockets feels odd, but I'll do it if I must. I wish that more modern, everyday clothes had large inside pockets because those are very convenient and about as close to having a purse that a guy can get without looking silly.

I love pockets and bags too. For pants I only wear jeans and I even have specific things that go in each pocket. My left back pocket is where my lighter goes, it is always a red mini-Bic. If I'm carrying cash that I need to get to quickly (bus fare etc.) that goes in that pocket as well. Any change I carry goes in my front left pocket. In my front right is my cherry chapstick. In the "5 pocket" the little mini pocket on the right I keep anything special or important, like if I'm out and I have to take off one of my rings. The right back pocket is where I put cigarette butts until I can find a trash can, I am a smoker but I don't litter

I have a system, too! Mine usually goes like this:
- Chapstick, coins and miscellaneous small objects in the front left pocket (i.e., things that I won't have to access frequently).
- Wallet in the front right pocket, and my phone if I'm sitting and don't have a hoodie or jacket (i.e., important items, frequently accessed).
- If I'm not wearing a jacket or hoodie and I'm standing up, then my phone goes in my back right pocket (easy access).
- My back left pocket is usually empty, but if not then I put loose cash in there that I don't feel like putting in my wallet yet, or sometimes receipts and bus transfers.
* If I
am wearing a hoodie, then the weird phone rules go out the window completely and I just keep it in the right pocket of that so I can fidget with it. Everything else remains the same.
It seems weirdly complex and arbitrary when I type it out, but it makes intuitive sense to me.
