I like pockets, too - especially ones that are big enough to hold my small stuffed dolphin, Dory. I mostly carry her in the front pocket of my hoodie, so I can discreetly hold her/rub her when I get nervous or anxious. Dory has always pretty much lived in my pockets. I also like pockets on pants and hoodies because they give me a place to put my hands, as others have also mentioned.

I also have a shoulder bag that I love and have decorated with all kinds of buttons and pins. :D

((My first post, but I've been lurking for months!!))

I almost always have to have pockets. I bought a new jacket recently with 6 of them on it! I mainly use two, but I always seem to have at least three pencils, a pen, three erasers, and a bunch of other random stuff in /one/ pocket. It's hillarious when my friends at school ask for a pencil and I whip a spare out without a second thought. At one point I emptied my pocket out onto my desk and my friend and I couldn't figure out how it all fit in it. But that jacket's my favourite. Lots of pockets and it's got 16 pins on it, 8 of which are all Doctor Who pins. I don't like carrying bags places except for school or if I'm going on a trip, so pockets are wonderful.

I never know what to do with my hands when I walk either unless I have pockets. If I have pockets, my hands are in them. If not, I've started to make myself wring my hands together, especially if I am feeling like the Doctor from Doctor Who. Or I'll hold them clasped behind my back if I'm dressed formally or feeling formal or if I'm feeling like Sherlock Holmes. XD Or if I'm feeling excited/energised/or something when shopping, I'll flap my hands back n' forth when walking. (I mainly notice this if I'm at thrift stores or am holding something in my hand. I tend to wag things I'm holding back and forth)

Pockets are a must for me as well; I just feel weird if I'm wearing clothing that doesn't have any. I love being able to store certain things in them whenever I go out; I feel more secure if I take something with me. Never really noticed until now though, weird.

Plus, I tend to walk without moving my arms, so I guess I come off as more normal if I keep my hands in my pockets.

I generally feel more comfortable with my hands in my pockets, or if I have something to hold onto, like my backpack straps. I don't move my arms much when I walk—something I've become more aware of in the last year—so putting my hands in my pockets makes me feel a little less awkward when I walk.

I like to wear pants and shorts with pockets, but no pockets on the back side.

Somehow I feel vulunable if don't have any pockets in the clothes that I am wearing.

I usually wear a jacket or hoodie with pockets because I like to put my hands in them. Putting my hand in my jeans pockets feels odd, but I'll do it if I must. I wish that more modern, everyday clothes had large inside pockets because those are very convenient and about as close to having a purse that a guy can get without looking silly.

I love pockets and bags too. For pants I only wear jeans and I even have specific things that go in each pocket. My left back pocket is where my lighter goes, it is always a red mini-Bic. If I'm carrying cash that I need to get to quickly (bus fare etc.) that goes in that pocket as well. Any change I carry goes in my front left pocket. In my front right is my cherry chapstick. In the "5 pocket" the little mini pocket on the right I keep anything special or important, like if I'm out and I have to take off one of my rings. The right back pocket is where I put cigarette butts until I can find a trash can, I am a smoker but I don't litter :)

I have a system, too! Mine usually goes like this:

- Chapstick, coins and miscellaneous small objects in the front left pocket (i.e., things that I won't have to access frequently).
- Wallet in the front right pocket, and my phone if I'm sitting and don't have a hoodie or jacket (i.e., important items, frequently accessed).
- If I'm not wearing a jacket or hoodie and I'm standing up, then my phone goes in my back right pocket (easy access).
- My back left pocket is usually empty, but if not then I put loose cash in there that I don't feel like putting in my wallet yet, or sometimes receipts and bus transfers.
* If I am wearing a hoodie, then the weird phone rules go out the window completely and I just keep it in the right pocket of that so I can fidget with it. Everything else remains the same.

It seems weirdly complex and arbitrary when I type it out, but it makes intuitive sense to me. :)

LOL, mine too. And having a system means you never have to check through all your pockets for something, everything has a place.

Me, too! I have a system.

My cards and keys in my right front pant pocket.
My mobile in my left front.
My ATM card, paper money, receipts for shopping, lotto tickets in my shirt pocket.
Coins in my left back pant pocket.

etc

It works well and I never lose my things.

I tend to keep all valuables in my pockets rather than in a bag because when I got mugged before, they just to tried to take my bag. So I have a wallet in my bag with a very small amount of money in it, so that I can just give it to the mugger if it happens again.
