And while I am a masculine guy, I'm a homo.. which is only relevant because I've read that the (I supposed suspected or theorized?) cause of homosexuality is due to low testosterone levels present at specific stages of development in the womb. Longer index fingers are supposed to be indicative of higher testosterone levels. Hmmm... perhaps both can be correct, ie there was low testosterone at certain stages of fetal development resulting in my sexual orientation, while I myself produce higher levels of testosterone.

Interesting stuff.

your gender identity and sexuality have nothing to do with each other.

I am female.
I scored 5.
My fingers are about the same length on both hands.

I also think describing the differences as being "male" or "female" was misleading. The programme emphasised the results were not about being masculine or feminine but about the way the brain is organised to deal with certain tasks, based on being better at either systemising or empathising.

They could have said general current perceptions of what are male or female traits remain too simplistic and in need of reconsideration. Instead they went with the stereotypes and, while noting there were exceptions, suggested those exceptions were untypical rather than conclude a better way of describing differences was needed.

I scored "1" and I'm female. 8O

I'm kind of shocked with the result, I knew I had a slightly male brain but a score of "1" was unexpected...

Edit: my index and ring finger are a close match, so I decided to carefully measure them as instructed in the questionnaire and on the left hand my index finger is longer than my ring finger and on the right hand my index and ring fingers have the same length.

(sorry about all the edits, but wanted to correct the mistake I made about my index and ring fingers length, I'm a non-English native speaker too)

10. Usually end up in the middle of these kinds of tests.

Apparently, my left hand is a boy and my right hand is a girl.

Evidently so, but both are said to be the result of opposite levels (low or high) of testosterone was my point..

I scored 6.

My left hand is slightly male. Right hand is too close to tell. On both hands my index finger is a lot thicker and stronger while my ring finger is skinnier and weaker. Don't know what that means.

I did not do the test but read all the responses.

It seems almost everyone has index and rings fingers close to a size on the dominate hand. The other hand has the ring finger as longer.
This is so pervasive in response regardless of gender I cannot see it as being other than random in adults.

I scored the exact same and also had the same results with the finger test. I have always felt much more male inside than female.

I had the lowest score I've seen on this topic, so I decided to do a little research on the subject of "male brains and ASD" and found this article: The extreme male brain revisited: gender coherence in adults with autism spectrum disorder.

It seems interesting, I haven't read it yet, but I'll once I finish the book I'm reading at the moment, I will probably read the original theory first for more context too. I just wanted to share the link to the article, for those interested in reading about brain gender and ASD.

I scored a 4, but wasn't sure how to answer two questions, so it's possible I could have scored slightly higher if I had answered them.

My ring fingers are both very significantly longer than my index fingers. The fingernails on my ring fingers are further away from my palms than the tips of my index fingers.

Left Hand: Unknown (Too much damage).

Right Hand: The index finger (2nd digit) is shorter than the ring finger (4th digit).

Final Score: 3/20 - "Very Male". Exceptions:

  • It's easy for me to sing in tune, singing alone.
  • I do not get bored easily so I do not need to keep doing new things.
  • As a child, I hated physical sports.
Well ... that's another 5 minutes of my life that I'll never get back ...

I scored a 7.

Both ring fingers are longer than the index fingers.

I knew I am male-brained. I have a feminine gender expression though. Interesting.

My score was 10. This seems entirely accurate to me since I identify as agender. Very good test, I must say.

I got an 11, which means my brain is somewhat female. My body is anatomicly male though. Does this mean that I'm androgynous? :?: On a side note, I've read that it's thought by some that finger length might be indicative of sexual orientation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/695142.stm I self identify as being bisexual, by the way, in case anyone might be wondering. :)
