It differs depending on mood and a host of other factors, but I'd say it's just right. Average. I'm fine with who I am, and I don't feel the need to prove to anyone (myself included) that I'm worthwhile.

It used to be too low for years, but this has changed.

I think the term "self-esteem" is overused. People make the mistake of thinking we should make people feel good before they can achieve something. I feel that true "self-esteem" is a result of accomplishment, rather than an end in itself. How does it boost someone's self confidence to do anything only half well? My self-confidence is boosted by accomplishing my goals.

My answer is adequately summed up by the following:

Self-esteem? Eh?

My self-esteem would not be so bad if it werent for social phobia and anxiety attacks etc. *shrug*

I have strong integrity and a sense of self-worth, but depression (blah blah boring subject) really destroys it all over and over. :)

I have medium self-esteem. I have accomplihed things such as a B.A. in Psychology and am improving the way I handle life in general. The lower end of the self-esteem comes from memories of being "the scary girl", and the fact that I still feel awkward in many social situations. I also remember my past "outburts", which are a source of shame for me. Knowing that I have Asperger's has helped me realize there is a reason for the outburts, so I do feel better about them.

My esteem of myself is high. My other-people-esteem is low and falling fast.

Tends to swing between low and medium, depending upon how little or how much control I have upon my environment.

Well put. Exactly. And what with global warming, it's an even better definition of my self-esteem. But on average, my self-esteem could be said to be medium to low, but there's never really an "average" in this respect, just like the weather....
