It's not the same kind of dramatics though at all in my opinion

Theatrical behaviour is over the top but still socially acceptable; autistic meltdowns/temper losses are not socially acceptable.

I don't find the joke itself that bad, but I often find that the sort of people who play "games" like that are not the sort of people I like to be around. It often turns into a highly judgmental and malicious exercise, and I can't stand being around people who think themselves to be so self-important.

It sounds more like they were saying autistic people don't have talent and that it was like calling theatre majors dumb and talentless. What you posted wasn't offensive at all.

Also, there are autistic people in theater, and they are not talentless.
