The sound of the machines at the factory. I can't understand why people wear earplugs to block out the noise.

Silence
Fountains
Gentle running water
Forest bird sounds
Fierce howling winds
The Volvo B12B, B9RT, and B13R engines on Scottish citylink buses. When I'm traveling somewhere that is served by this company, I always sit at the back in order to listen to the electronic rumbling sounds which stimulate my thought processes. 8O
Specific electronic machine sounds
Ocean
Cat's purring
Hooting owls
Formal, pedantic, soothing, classy, and sophisticated voices.
Favourite singing voices.
Flying aircrafts/helicopters (but not if it's too overstimulating).
Zooey Deschanel and Marvin the martian's voices.
My favourite songs
Campfires

Rain.
Snow; especially that light hissing sound of wind driven snow against a window.
Wind in trees.
A campfire crackling

The only sounds I like are "white noise" sounds. Constant sounds that drown out everything else. The sound of air conditioners and fans running are my favorite.

I also like the sound of Waterfalls, and rain on the roof.

all of these, plus:

Big, pounding surf.
The weird voice-like sound of very high winds.
Distant fog horns.
The noise of jet engines from inside big jets--I find it very soothing and easy to sleep to.

Thunder is probably my favourite, I like the way it rumbles for a long time.
The sound of the washing machines at the laundrette. I always sit and wait while my stuff washes, it's a nice sound.
Some car engines. I'm partial to Mustangs and muscle cars but they are rare in the UK.
Brass bands so long as they are all in tune and I am not too close!
I like orchestral music from film scores and stuff, but if they are very dramatic I find it hard to sit still.
And I like the way sound is muffled underwater.

A lot of people have said 'silence', but I always hear either the high-pitched noise of the electrics or the sounds of the wind/bugs etc, so I can't imagine absolute silence. The rushing of the blood in your ears?

hissing (from hydraulic or pneumatic closers)
music (oldies and classic rock)

humm from electric motors such as those on older supermarket door openers
