This might explain why I have such sharp reflexes and why I can catch something that's flying/falling really fast so much better than something that is slowly thrown to me.
And how I can estimate whether or not it's safe for me to cross in less than half a second.

is that why I see patterns faster than NTs? because I just happen to see it more often than them?

the other day I was writing to a fellow Aspie and I mentioned, I wish I was just animal because then all my senses would make well sense :D

Is it just me or has anyone else here noticed that you seem to BE faster than NT's?

I've only just realized that in raising my kids I was surprised at how S-L-O-W they were. I know I walk fast (my usuall pace is about 3mph, which is a pretty good clip) because my kids were always asking me to slow down (& I was telling them to speed up!)
I have the same issue, but I always assumed it's because I'm rather short (5'6 - 167cm) while all my closest friends were a lot taller than me. So I got used to them.

Faster AND Smarter?

no wonder they hate us...

I just thought I was normal and they were just lazy and complaining.
(I walk about 4-3/4 mph) ...grown man zoomin around like a spaz...

I've noticed too. The autistic people I know walk very fast, myself included. I think it's because we have one thing in mind: getting to the destination. We are practical individuals, not social individuals (a generalization, but I think there's truth to this).

It's like, autistic people could arrange a party (they are practical), but when they get there. there would not be so much party about it in traditional sense, because everybody is very practical instead of social. Being social includes doing very unpractical actions.

"Visual stimulation" of any sort can cause my brain to implode.

I doubt I detect motion any quicker than baseline humans.

And, physically, I'm a sloth.
