I relate to them and their actions and reactions very easily. I'm terrible at describing how I feel unless I can use animal metaphors (though I don't think most people understand what I'm trying to say even then!). This might sound weird, but if I feel anxious, it really helps me to feel calmer if I look at an animal or pictures or videos of animals if there aren't any real ones in the vicinity.
One thousand percent accurate with me. I've offended friends and co-workers by telling them they reminded me of a border collie or a St. Bernard ... I would only ever compare someone to a dog if I thought they were great! Oops.
Personally, as much as I absolutely adore dogs, I don't think I'm like one at all. My mother said it best when she told me, "I know you're different, that's okay. I feel like a deer who gave birth to a tiger. I don't always understand you, but I think you're amazing, and I'm glad you don't eat us."
Lol, Mom.
So yes, I'm a Tiger. I love water, I'm mostly solitary. I've been told I have big cat-eyes, I can be menacing if I do think someone's threatening me or someone I love, and I've been called intimidating lots of times by people before they got to really know me. My differences from the "other" animals around me make me a little scary to approach, I suppose, but oh well, that's just the way I am and I don't know how to change my stripes.
