It's a reassurance that he cares for you. I mirrored my girlfriend all the time.

I mirror people to an extreme degree.

I copy the style of speaking, tone of voice, mood, body language and gestures of whoever I am speaking to.

This is me. If I don't mirror, I don't use body language, facial expressions, or more than short and concise language. I also end up having an extremely monotone voice. I have conditioned myself into mirroring as a defense mechanism against being ostracized and persecuted.

Luckily, I found an understanding woman who let me marry her despite being considered "cold and emotionless" by most people, and she is not offended by my "expressionless nature," but listens instead to just my words.

He usually sends xxx (kisses) to family members. I haven't seen him send these to friends yet, but perhaps he does.

How do I get him to communicate with me more often?

This is a two edged sword, and will likely be the seeds for the affair's destruction.

You're communication is very different to his. It's hard to see, it's hard to understand, it's hard to describe. The language is the same, the words will mostly mean the same to both of you. It's in the use of words where the real difference lies.

NT's use a particular word of phrase because it has some emotional meaning for them. An Aspie interprets to the dictionary definition of the word. This is a communication breakdown.

I get into so much trouble. The more intimate the communication, the more it will go bad quick. Getting intimate and speaking at an emotional level, for NT's seem to heighten any offence, real or perceived. It's going to be hard for you. Hope I've given you some head's up.
