I do this too but I'm surprised that other people can avoid doing it when people are around. Often I'm so deep in a daydream that I'm not even aware that other people are around so I can't just censor myself. I react to my daydreams without realizing that people are watching.

Yeah im completely stuck in my own world at the moment. Sometimes i guess its better than being normal and just caring about partying all the time usually follows drug taking and generally being fooled by the status quo's etc. Screw that. Did it for a while. Now i just need to make a job or find one out of my obsession's somehow.

I do that sometimes. Ok, semi-regularly. I try not to have that happen with other people around, as far as stuff slipping out, but sometimes I'll get someone waving at me saying "Yoooo hooooo, earth to Charis!" or something like that. Often my going into my own little world around other people results in me coming "back to earth" in the middle of a conversation with no idea what they're talking about now. Usually while they're waiting for me to give an answer to a question that I "returned" just a little too late to actually hear.

Years ago my kids always used to say "Earth to Mom" until I got it across to them how much it offended me.

For some reason, just thinking about it gets me annoyed. lol

I do it a lot to be honest  and people tend to notice me smiling for no reason. And they were like "Hey, why are u smiling?" "Owh nothing, I just remember something funny".

It happens that I speaks to myself or have daydreams that I partially act out(when I am alone). I have found it to be very effective ways to think through things.
One time I was so deep into my own thoughts(I do not remember what the thought was) that I did basicly not sence what I was doing. And when i returned to reality, I discovered that I had walked into the bethroom and begun to brush my teeth.

Sometimes I'll smile or laugh when I'm in my own world or daydreaming, and not realize it.

I've lived most of my life in a dream world, its my way of coping / escaping reality, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Some of my best ideas and concepts have come from my daydreaming.

I have my own world to withdraw to when needed. I often put myself there to switch off from everything, otherwise I pace, rock or suffer a lot worse from my ticks or migraines.

When there I often have the company of Rhoslyn and Gwydion (Gwydion is kind of represented in the avatar) often tells jokes, bo something with magic and is generally childish in the sake of distraction from pain of all kinds.

Rhoslyn, the more serious, often tries to piece together the aftermath of a meltdown, serves as my memory and logic, always tries to keep my emotions safe from harm.

The world is full of colour, flavour and general calm. One where the three of us can relax and holiday from things.

A friend of mine noticed this quirk and said that he likes it. He enjoys trying to guess what I'm daydreaming about when I make facial expressions that aren't at all related to what's going on around me.

I grew up hearing that one. It'd probably be annoying if I actually heard it every time it was said.

Yea I do this as well. Like even the pacing thing.
Actually I often get these sudden creative moods and I begin to fantasize and walk around the house. Especially tends to happen while listening to music.
It's during these times that I get great ideas to write stories or make paintings or whatever the hell, only to end in a bit of frustration because I can't write prose and I can't draw or paint at all lol. Reminds me that I should really practice on writing...

If anyone here has ever played Dwarf Fortress: compare it to Strange Mood. (Except that I don't begin to berserk and slaughter people if I don't get to realize a great work. :P)

I do that too.

I am very often in my own little world. Other than music, it's my escape from the harsh realities of life. I'm also talking to myself "thinking out loud", as I call it... quite often.

I said that to my mother, when she spaced out in the middle of a conversation.

Yep. And I was busted on it once. I was at work and mopping the floor (I worked in a convenience store). I started having a conversation in my head with someone. Apparently I was moving my lips while I was talking in my head because someone saw me at a distance and asked me later who I was talking to.
