wouldn't say I refuse, I just don't care that much about it.

Same...except the illegal fireworks in the neighborhood profoundly scares the animals.
I'd prefer an electric light show than noisy fire crackers...

To me it is the same old same old...
I guess the kids get a kick out of it...<shrug>

I didn't really "refuse," I just went to my room kind of early and quietly watched the ball drop in NYC via an internet livestream. Oh, and my mom and stepdad gave me a call to wish me a Happy New Year, too. That was about all the excitement I could handle. :D

i actually call "birthdays" "new years" because it is YOUR new year. you can only be born once.

You're only born once? I don't even know, what that mean tho? Back home, where my granddad's great granny comes from, we keep being born again and again and again... That's why we invented karma.

Points for who gets the reference.

I stayed in on new years eve and even went to bed before midnight. I felt so bad about myself for not going out, that I had an anger attack the next morning because I felt angry with myself for not going out like my peers. Also I was so scared my Aspie friend (who's never bothered about clubbing and has even less friends than me) might turn around to me and say she dressed up and went out.
I even came off Facebook that very day because I didn't want to hear about everyone's night out with their friends and partners.

New years eve normally reminds me how lonely I really am.

I just stayed up until 1am as I do most nights. The fireworks were really annoying (I live next to multiple parks). I watched some Star Trek, played Scrabble against myself and read my favourite psychopharmacology textbook.

yes, i celebrated new years. i stayed with with my husband and looked after his friend's 2 young daughters, and we all played board games like monopoly, and had chips from the chip shop. then we stayed up til midnight to watch the fireworks, and then all went to bed.

i never go out to celebrate new years. i wouldnt of even cared if i was on my own on new years eve either. as long as i was warm and had my books to enjoy and some music on.

I like my New Years celebration. I have a prime rib dinner at the clubhouse with the majority of my community. After dinner everyone else goes upstairs to the dance but I go out to the hot tub for a while. Then my husband, son and I go back to the trailer, play cards and eat snacks until midnight.
