No, it's more like inspiration. I listen to music a lot and sometimes I'll hear a lyric that makes me think of a character and my mind starts spinning from that jumping off point and I end up coming up with all kinds of new ideas. I put the notes in the comments so I can remember because usually they end up being not any literal or obvious interpretation of the song, therefore I would probably never remember them just by listening to the song again.I guess that is a kind of menomic device now that you mention it! (I can' spell it either.)

would instrumental-only music work for you? 99% of my fave music is instrumental because I always found comprehending lyrics to be a challenge, especially the way music is recorded nowadays with so much sound fx in a too-loud foreground. I have been listening to lots of electronic carillon music lately, I can't help but think that might encourage the mind to meditate on spiritual things.

So weird you should mention that! I'm really not that big on instrumental/classical music, although I like some of it. But JUST THIS WEEKEND somebody here turned me on to Philip Glass which started a whole big instrumental music thing. Did you see the video Eloa left for me in the Two Kinds of Autism thread? The one with the two women dancing? It's pretty cool, I had reactions all over my body from watching it. Anyway, I've been listening to this instrumental stuff all weekend (what kind of coincidence is that)?????

I don't know what electronic carillon is (did we discuss it before?) - it sounds familiar. Going to have to check it out.

I have a neurpphone aswell. I hope it will help. I'm not sure I'm responding right to this post, whether I'm responding to this specific post that I saw or in general. I'm new to this forum or forums full stop.

I think my cataloging became more intense as I got older because I had more access to information.

Other than that, no.

I catalogued everything as a kid (stuffed animals, books, made lists of the dogs in the neighborhood, even made a cheat sheet of cartoons with emotions on them). I still sort my books out occasionally (I've got seven bookshelves full), mostly to de-stress, and archive my work emails as more of a necessity. Making lists or sorting things like sea shells still is soothing.
