One way ASD is oft confused with BPD?
I have BPD comorbid with autism, and it's a nightmare. I made a post about it just a few minutes ago. And I was abused a lot as a child, including severe bullying and the abuse from my family still continues from time to time, and when it happens, I have bursts of uncontrollable rage and aggression directed at the abuser, especially if the abuse is physical. Most of my aggression results not in physical violence, but property destruction during the moment of the abuse, usually or a few seconds after the abuse initiates, though I have on rare occasions traded blows with the abuser(s).
No BPD here -- not really, in a sense everyone here describes. I can't relate to the posters here. I can only relate to the emotional intolerance and reactivity, but I cannot relate much to the consequent emotional and social needs that is commonly expressed.
And if so, I think the label itself is a misnomer.
1 - Only when triggered enough.
2 - No. Intense emotions, intense sense of sympathy and social vigilance are different things.
3 - Define 'emptiness'. The common context here seems to be 'longing want'. Mine is usually called 'drifting boredom'.
4 - No. Far from it. So far from it, I practically take it for granted.
5 - I never feared abandonment. If anything, I anticipate it. Sometimes I'd look forward to it. One way to break an attachment from anything.
6 - See #5. To be 'abandoned' in my personal context means a greater permission to roam around without having to mind anyone worrying anymore. This does not equally mean I'm unaffected by rejection or being left behind, but I will always move on and get over it.
BPD is more about crappy emotional control, with crappy emotional threshold and tolerance.
Which is mistaken for Autistics' crappy internal regulation and intolerance, ADHD's impulse control, Anxiety's uncertainty intolerance, Narcissists' "vulnerability"/"neediness", Depression's despair, Emotional Developmental delay in general, a type of Alexithymia that emphasizes on emotional incomprehension...
