Do some social interactions come very easily for you?

It's starting and ending conversations I find really hard. In between, once it's started, it's nice, I like it.

I've gotten quite good at buying things in shops. Sometimes I can seem quite pleasant and casual for short bursts, and it makes me proud of myself.

I even have a few scripted responses for particular situations. e.g. if I'm buying an age-restricted product, I'll say, "Would you like to see my ID? It's just you had that look in your eye."
I completely improvized that one time and I think I came off as quite funny and friendly. But now I have to remember which shopkeepers I've already spoken to, or the line might get old.

Some have gotten harder. Some people I just can't talk to, I don't know what to say. They'll say something or ask something and I just don't really follow it, but I nod my head and then its like its too late to ask them to repeat it lol
