Can You Read People’s Emotions?
Wow, you use big words for a kid your age
I will try to stick with this avatar (cartoon self) for a while
Hey! You're younger than me . Does Alex change the age each year on the sign up form? For example, next year will you be able to select 2000 when signing up an account? I have a friend who was born then and I would like to show him but the 2000 option isn't available.
The amount of discomfort and almost, well, pain that I felt was surprising.
As I said, on the test before I just guessed when the option I thought it was wasn't available.
I could not force myself to do this again. I started to feel ill and I had to stop. This was unusual for me because when I want to do something, I do it.
asked me what was wrong because I was rocking like mad lol.
I lie down on a sofa and start madly twitching with my face and my hands. My family nicknamed it that before they realised, they always used to tell me to stop twitching and that's how they'd explain it to people.
Before I discovered the internet, I would read for entire days. This was both good and bad as now I have a big vocabulary but people are constantly correcting me on pronunciations. I.E ricocheted was pronounced "rick-o-kit-ed" by me.
I retook the test and I got 25. The ones that I got wrong were close to the "correct answer." In psychology class we did this experiment with facial expressions. The more simple ones had consistent answers, but the more complicated ones had differing answers.
My class was mostly full of NTs by the way. Body language is an abstract concept and the nature of abstract concepts is different people coming up with a bunch of different interpretations for the same thing.
A lot of NT arguments are related to missing or misreading signals. NT men often complain about their girlfriends and wives expecting them to read their mind. A lot of NTs accuse people of giving them a nasty look, when in reality that was just their imagination. A lot of NT girls debate whether a guy was creepy or not.

You are very likely neurotypical
I'm usually really good at reading people. But it's not just their eyes, eyes alone isn't enough to figure things out. I look at their face, their body language, how they breathe, what they're doing, how they're dressed the way they speak, express themselves, act. I can usually find out so much more than just emotional info. reading people like that is like reading them like a book, everything is in plain sight for all to see.
My own eyes say nothing about my emotions. Most of the time they're empty and cold. People tell me my eyes are creepy to look at.
On the test i did 15/36
meh. eyes alone, its very hard to read people. i need more information. Especially since i can't practice on myself because my eyes are apparently, messed up.
I'm 2000. There's a 12 year old regular who is 2001. And another guy who is 11 years old. So idk about that.

Right, I read tons too, so I have a big vocabulary and everyone saying how amazing I write for 13, which is why I made that joke to you. I told them there are kids on the teen forums our age who write just as well, so really nbd.
(sorry I changed my picture again. I realized signing back on that i hated that cartoon. I've had Ender on another forum for a while now, so I'll stick with him longer)

I knew it was probably from Ender's game as I remember going to see a film with my mum at a place that I shall not name to see "the way, way back" and they had strange escalator arrangement and there was this big poster of Ender's game.
I only said the thing about age because I was wondering about my sign up where the youngest option was 1999 (my birthdate).
30/36. Not really surprised, though I definitely would have gotten a lower score at an earlier age.

Given a “tentative” diagnosis as a child as I needed services at school for what was later correctly discovered to be a major anxiety disorder.
This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.
My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
It's multiple choice. I guessed a lot. I was surprised I got 24/36. Particularly since I rarely look at people's eyes. It's too distracting (when trying to listen to what someone else is saying or thinking of what I need to say).
Cool test. I was really surprised that I scored a 30... I am absolutely horrendous when it comes to socializing or small talk.. On a typical day I will go to work, go home, and go to bed without talking to ANYONE. So if I have these skills down, why am I still a social ret*d?
