I am a guy first off.
I was dx'd with BPD.
I'm not sure how it will fit with AS or how well it fits
I belive it is there though.
I fit most of the criteria.
So..my opinion?
BPD and AS can coexist.
You just won't have a typical case of either.

You believe what is there? The Bpd or the AS?
I refute my bpd diagnosis as the things they based it on can also occur in AS. Extreme and limited reactions to strong, overwhelming emotions can occur in both conditions, and to be honest, I believe that both AS and bpd people can be manipulative if they wish to be...it is a matter of degrees and intention, I suppose.

I meant that I could have BPD...and yeah way too many people have been mis diagnosed with BPD...both NT and AS.
I don't know honestly if I am one of them.
Honest.

Here is a list of differences I could think of:

AS:
stimming
strong sensory issues/ sensory overload
strong tactile issues (fabrics, food)
language issues (odd use of language or language delay for HFA)
poor socialization skills, few friends, difficulty maintaining friendships (not due to devaluation)
OCD traits
needs ritual and routine
obsessions with people or subjects
linked to high IQ
awkward body language
difficulty with eye contact

BPD:
tends to idealize then devalue friends/ partners
no stimming other than self harm
no sensory or tactile issues per se
no language issues
can socialize, although might be unstable
people, not subject, obsessions
not necessarily linked to high IQ
no difficulty with eye contact

I think John Landy's running coach, Percy Cerutty, had BPD. He was nasty to his proteges, dumped water on a cat to prove his weird theories about running, and publcly dressed down John Landy in front of Landy's parents. A sick individual!
