Hi, KoR. I love hearing about the advocacy stuff you do. It sounds so cool. My aunt had Down Syndrome, and they had sheltered workshops way back then (she died in the 1960s), but I don't really think there was much in the way of services for her, and certainly no opportunity to do the sorts of things you do. I also wanted to answer your question and say that flats in America are actually called "apartments" (some people actually will refer to them as "flats" here, but it is not common). Condos are housing units that people own themselves, which are then part of a housing complex where they pay a monthly fee for maintenance. So they get maintenance like in an apartment or flat, but they actually own the building or unit themselves, the same as owning a house.
