Are you sure there isn't? Have you checked with the Austrailian Autism Society? Every state in the US seems to have a conference and Arizona is having two in one summer.

I am an Alaskan.....do you know of any organization/facility for autistim in AK? Sometimes necessary medical/psych attention is problematic, w/ respect to AS. Do you know? Does anyone?

Where do you live? Are you sure you can't talk the boss into a day off? I'm having to take the day off myself.

I see the next conference is in July in Phoenix, Az. Looks like some of the workshops pertain to AS.

I checked out their website and it sounds really interesting...
Some of the workshops and seminars I would really like to attend....
But it's in the middle of the week and I will probably have to go to school...
However I'm thrilled something like this exists...would keep in mind to participate in the future...:)

I thought it was $60 or $70? Anyway I'm going but I get in free because I'm helping out. If anyone can't afford the Flagstaff conference there is a way on their website to ask for a free scholarship as people have donated money so that other's may go.

I've made this thread a sticky and moved it to the General Autism Discussion thread. (A "shadow topic" will remain in the Parents Discussion.) I will not be able to attend, but I would like to encourage everyone west of the Mississippi, especially young people, to start making plans to attend now. Those workshops can't hurt and they could be a big help.

So you don't need to go there MrMark? What a puzzle!

Well, at my age it probably wouldn't help much. Treatments for AS are most effective in people under the age of 10. Early intervention seems to be the best treatment.

yeah i would go if i was in that country but i don't live there i live in New Zealand but i was born in Australia. the person that said there wasn't any thing in Australia, there is mate alot more then what there is in New Zealand. if you lived in NZ you wouldn't believe let alone the government has only rergonized deslexia in schools this year can you even believe that. it was all over the papers and all that. it wasd a really big thing. anyway i live in Napier and I am getting in to all this stuff because i don't want to do nothing about it, it takes one person to change things.
