Your messages are just messed up or not working. Once you understand that and how a brain works, you can start to look at it from the perspective that humans are highly adaptable, so for the most part, we can learn to "get around" our lack of normal messaging paths and executive function to process them.

So, there are ways around it, but you need to understand your own brain first and use it not as a crutch but as a way to get your brain to do what you need it to do. You need to find the alternate route.
I agree with everything else you said. GOOD POST, by the way...
There are TONS of books on learning, the brain, hypnosis, etc... ALSO, some people ,who are MOSTLY autistic by the way, are RESPECTED for how they can get their brains to work. It appears that, if anything, NTs often have a HARDER time with that. As for crutch? I have never used my inability as a crutch, other than to gain understanding by others by saying things such as "I forgot", or "I slipped up", or "I made a mistake". Otherwise, I see such problems as challenges. I take SOME consolation in the fact that it seems EVERYONE has the same problems, but I still try to be better.
Also, everyones brain seems to work a little different. I guess that makes sense as the white matter is like a bunch of patch cords on a network or telephone switch, and they are laid out by specific genetics, experience, and just dumb luck. Anyway, how can you convey such a nebulous thought as how one accesses his/her own mind? So I guess we are all left to try to gain abilities and just be satisfied if we don't achieve them.
