yep, have always had toileting difficulties and am still in nappies today, mine are prescribed on the NHS which is lucky as adult nappies are very expensive at the rate theyre needed.
unfortunately theyre not water proof and water proof nappies dont seem to be buyable in large/xl size which affects the new love of mine; swimming.

I was in diapers full time until about 7 or 8. And wore one at night up until 12. And I still wear one if I'm in another bed like a guest room or hotel, just to play it safe.

My mum said I was really easy potty-training. I was out of nappies before I turned three, and was dry at night by the time I was 3 and a half, and I never looked back.

I have no clue when they removed diapers from me but I remember I they just let me sit on my potty in the living room while watching TV. It took long (I could sit like this a few hours) but eventually "something" landed in the potty. I was just too focused on the TV (they could wave hands in front of my face and there was no reaction from me) to think of going to the toilette.

I'm told by my mother than I had some problems with it, but I of course don't recall it. She mostly compares me to my younger brother, who apparently breezed through the process.

I didn’t have too much trouble being potty trained but I still pooped my pants several times a year all the way through school.

One of the most embarrassing was when I was 13 at the sprint car racing. My friends had asked me to help in the pits, which I had wanted to do for a long time. When we got there and started helping I got so involved in what I was doing I ignored my body telling me to poop until it was in my underwear. Instead of going to the toilet and dealing with it I carried on helping hoping no one would find out, which they didn’t for quite a while.

Apparently I got the hang of it very quickly--I hated the feeling of a wet diaper.

That doesn't mean I don't still have... er, well, occasional minor accidents. I get kind of hyperfocused and forget and sometimes don't make it to the bathroom in time, like maybe once in a month or so. It's kind of embarrassing--I'm supposed to be independent! But I do my own laundry, so... whatever, right? It all works out.

I had an easy time with potty training despite my fear of being flushed down the toilet. I did develop encopresis at the age of 5, with episodes that lessened with age.

I had trouble for sure. Im 13 now and still not potty trained. I wasnt able to poop in the toilet until i was about 11, im trained for that mostly but can still have problems with it, as for peeing in the toilet i want to be trained but i just cant do it so i still have to wear diapers for that....at 13. Ive never peed in the toilet and im 13. Feel pretty bad about it and i get teased at school for wearing diapers but not much i can do, ive tried and i know my Mom is probably sick of buying diapers

I did have an accident in first grade. We had a toilet in the classroom, and on the door was a paper "traffic light". The idea was that when you went in, you turned it around to red, and then turned it back to green when you came out. Looking back, that seemed a lot of responsibility for a bunch of 6-year olds....hence my problem. Well, one day I had to poop, but the sign was turned to red, which to me meant someone else was in there. I held it and held it, but no one ever came out. I finally let it go, and got in trouble for it -- got hauled to the office, they called Mom, etc. It turned out there wasn't anyone in the bathroom at all, but rather the last kid hadn't turned the sign back around to green. I guess I could have said something to the teacher about my problem, but I was too shy.

Seems like I had an accident in 2nd grade too, but the details escape me now. I got it under control after that.

They shouldn't tease you; that's mean of them. Besides, it's a lot more responsible and grown up to wear diapers when you need them, instead of having to constantly change your clothes.

I don't envy you for being 13 years old, though. Kids are cruel at that age, and middle school is a tough neighborhood. Hang in there.

Thanks. School is really tough for me. and The teasing can be really really bad at times and it gets physical, more often than not i come home in a wet diaper and in tears,. I dont have any friends over it, its depressing all because im 13 and still not potty trained. Mom wants me to try again soon. And diapers are just something im used to, ive never been out of them, not really any other option.

I had to think about whether or not to post on this for privacy reasons, but I decided to go ahead, trusting that somehow it will help somebody at some point.

Yes, I had a fair amount of trouble; mainly wetting pants up 'til about age 4, then bed wetting through early teens. I was never clear as to whether that bed wetting was a physical or autism/emotional issue, but nevertheless it happened. It did stop completely by mid-teens, with probably only one or two incidents per year between 13 and 15.

Also, I remember always being scared that I wasn't able to be sure I was 100% finished using paper, so I'd ask for "help" until I was 9 or 10. I'm very self-conscious about hygiene, and people call me a "clean freak". That's been the way I am since as long as I can remember. If I even get a blade of grass on my knee, I probably will take a complete shower, if that's an example. So I'm guessing that might be the biggest reason for this late need for "help" in the toilet. That's VERY embarrassing for me to remember, but it's the truth.
