My answer is a lot like Graelwyn's; I come hoping to fill a need for companionship not found off line. So far, I have been mostly putting my 2 cents worth in, not getting much back. I often play devil's advocate since I am cursed with an objective point of view and see all sides of an argument. I also was initially hoping to find others with similar interests, but now realise that's not likely.

Time will tell...

I found this site through a friend on my Siamese cat site. I thought it was interesting.

i came to find companionship , understanding, friends and fun. I haven't found much yet, bu I too am objective and see all sides. Iliked any engineering I did, like makeing a padsaw and a plastic bowl, some computer stuff and learning to srervice two -stroke engines. Also modelling , anmals books nice clothes, good words and pictures. I have made about 5 friends in the last year and gained some understanding of asperger's while getting diagnosed, but it seems aspies are very diverse, which is not a bad thing.

I come here because I'm mainstream here. Nobody thinks my weird stuff is weird at all. I'm allowed to exist, just as I am.

I wanted to write an essay on how autism can be interpreted using the Chinese Five Elements system. Autism seem to have all the characteristics of the element Metal. It will take a lot of time to write this essay though, especially because I should try to track down my sources again, so for the moment I'll just gather obscure aspie trivias not found in official diagnostic manuals.

I came here after realising the people on here are easy to understand, unlike many other places. I decided to stay on WP for now, because this place has become familiar and comfortable. People share very similar issues and thus the reading is helping me to find and understand the things that I may lack to be considered "normal".

The tricky thing is to notice what makes you different, when you have clue what is considered "typical". Like eye-contact really is important and works for all the people in my class - that was a thing I realised only after reading about it, partly on the boards, here on WP. Although now it has me confused on how much I should look people in the eye and although I seem to do it ok, I hate, hate, hate it. So maybe I can find clues on here also, how to get out of this stupid look-into-eyes business.

I don't know whether I will continue staying here, if my doctor denies the AS diagnosis, as it would send me searching again. I will hopefully know the answer in April! I doubt that I can find another place which is filed with people like you that finally make sense. Most people out there in the world certainly don't make sense at all.

So that 9186 straight-laced members can keep me in line.

Okay, seriously. The reason that I'm here, is because I share a common bond with all of you. That common bond is Asperger's Syndrome. This is also one of the few places that I can be myself and talk about my obsessions, whenever my mood posseses me to do so. I'm also here to help parents and other members, and to receive help, as well. I'm also here because I know that my first love would be looked down upon around most forums at most websites that are mainly desinged for NTs. You all know what they are, by now.

Pretty much what CR said... it's a place where I can "hang out" with people who have the same quirky non-NT perspective that I have.

I'm here cause, I'd rather be around fellow Aspies than, the jackals of the "NT" world cause, I find that it's much easier for me to relate to others here than some people who've in my own estimation have wrongfully labeled me as being weird or something along those lines. Well, I wish there was more time to be of a lenghthy elaborate nature however, I'll shall return soon and have more to say.

Thanks for your time and patience.

fiction is the fantastic wonder of what is not "real".

if truth is considered real proof, then what's the wonder in that?

lol - The irony is that the majority of people live in some form of "disillusion" that, often, the truth is too unbearable to take. You cant handle the truth - The truth is far from lame. The truth is an element of life few actually ever realize and I've yet to hear anyone, including myself, state its lame.

Why am I here? Originally, it answered some questions. Now, I stick around for the debating with intelligent people.

Because there is no where else I'd rather be, especially considering what my alternatives are for now! :D Now having said that, I must go attend to all the unattractive alternatives because of spending too much time here. :(

Lonely, lonely, lonely. And there are people like ME! And sometimes, I can help someone out. Or be goofy. Or whatever. :)

No one knows that I'm only 16, which is excellent, because I can speak to adults on my own level without them treating me like an idiot.

Wait. I just told you I'm 16.

Great. :?
