I find both to be very true. I'm one of the nice ones. A real Sweet Pea. I went to college with an aspie who was one of the mean types. He called all of my colleagues except for me toilet heads and toilet seats. He also called me Queen in a very snide manner. He'd also say that if he had a puppy dog, he'd kick it. He also called my best friend at the time a fat pig. We were told to partner up and William and I were were asked to switch partners. He ended up with Bryan who was my best friend at the time and he said to everyone, "I'm not working with that fat pig!" I along with the rest of my colleagues told him that it was wrong of him to call my friend a fat pig. I also flew off the handle at him. Bryan was a blue-eyed version of Mick Avory, with a very sensitive nature.

Sounds like that guy needs a swift punch in the nose. What an ass.

If we were in a field somewhere, I'm sure someone would have delivered it to him. Hey....William! Would you like a lantern?

Sounds like compartmentalization: putting people in categories based on black and white thinking.

I disagree with it. Even two people with AS can be strikingly different from each other.

Good and bad can cover a wide variety of people too.

Kinda makes sense. When I'm in a good mood, people tend to like me, but when I'm not, I become a bit of a jerk. :P

I've known several people with Asperger's/autism and some have a problematic lack of emotional maturity, worse than the average person. I also know awesome people with AS who definitely stand out in a positive way.

I kind of recognise it, yes, but I wouldn't say that they're more 'evil', just sometimes so immature it causes them to behave in childish, pathetic or downright terrible ways. Also, lack of ToM can make their behaviour seem a certain way without the appearance matching the intent.

And this same lack of social understanding can make them hateful and resentful because they continually misinterpret other people's behaviour, usually in a negative way. (or it turns negative after they get in some kind of -social- trouble because of all the miscommunication, leaving them disappointed etc) This can lead to uncharming habits.

But it's not like they're 'evil'. Their behaviour however can be more ugly than usual due to the complexity of some people's problems.

If this is true, then William Shatner has Asperger's Syndrome.
It's the only logical explanation.

I think he's too charasmatic to be an aspie. :P Not that aspies can't be charasmatic, but I just don't think it comes to us naturally.
