You are far from the only one. That is my one vice and I drink far more than you. I am slowly trying to cut back but as I joke, I have to have a vice like all normal humans! Lest you think I am a total addict I have gone a day or two without with no major problems. I do know people who drink close to a litre of energy drinks some days. THAT I consider an addiction!

Oh I forgot to mention flaming hot cheetos and the flaming hot fries.....those are addicting. Occasionally I still get a bag and munch it down....but I do try to avoid eating that since I have to pay for it later in the bathroom :( it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase flaming s**t . But I still occasionally eat a bag knowing this, so I'd say tha'ts an addiction...eating something I know harms me because I can't resist.

Two brands I know of are Azteca, has no salt, and then El Ranchero, they call their low sodium "Natural", which works for me, whatever.

I looove chips and salsa, I like the Lime and Habenero salsa from Trader Joe's, and do not ask how someone with Asperger's likes fiery hot salsa, cuz I can't figure it out either.

Me too! I have to be careful and ration myself or I could eat a huge bag of chips and a whole jar of salsa in one sitting! I also like hot salsa and hot food in general, though I don't have a Trader Joe's near me so I have not tried that particular kind of salsa. It sounds good. I'm hypersensitive to lots of things, but not when it comes to hot food!

What will happen if you don't drink coca-cola for a day? Any funny feelings? Are you angry? Are you sleepy? Perhaps it is just your favorite drink..

no, im definately addicted

when i dont get pop my legs and back hurt, i feel irritable and desperate, the longest i can go without it is 2 days.

if i dont drink it for a while, and then i drink it, its like a high, i become really calm and relaxed and all my pains go away, its an amazing feeling.

When I was younger I would drink a 2 ltr. of Dr. Pepper most days for lunch. (I like soda's with flavor, and Coca Cola is about as refreshing as filling my mouth with wood chips.) But I don't drink soda anymore. It's not good for your body and teeth and they use artificial sweeteners because they apparently forgot that sugar exists. I just drink water most of the time now. I can taste my food and don't get all burpy/gassy. (I used to think I needed to drink soda to make room by burping, but it was really just making me burp by making me gassy in the first place.)

I have a friend who is definitely addicted to Diet Pepsi. He goes through withdraws when he isn't drinking it just like if he used any other addictive drug, which is what caffeine is.

I just had to go almost 6 days without. 8O

Something that is a good substitute is various fruit juices mixed with fizzy water.

I used to be addicted to Coke. It was the only thing I would drink and I drank tons. I couldn't even estimate how much I drank in a day but it was way too much. I tried to quit several times but I would always get hooked again. I finally lost the taste for it and gave it up for good. I still like to have one once in awhile, but only the Coke from Mexico that comes in a glass bottle and has real sugar in it. But I really don't like the taste anymore. Pepsi in a glass bottle with real sugar is better. Really I just like to save the glass bottles, to use in my garden.

Spicy foods are extremely addictive. Capsaisin, the actual spicy part of chiles, has quite a lot of benefits actually; it's been tried as part of surgical anesthetic practices and does a great job clearing sinuses, not to mention intestines. Furthermore, when ingested in high enough concentrations it can actually fire basically every nerve ending in your body. If you're like me and for some bizarre reason know you can handle it, a shooter of equal parts vodka (NOT CHEAP STUFF) and your favorite hot sauce is a very interesting experience. :colors:

I actually love stuff made with hot peppers, and compared to a lot of people my tolerance for heat is somewhat high, though it's probably just from years of eating it. I've had moments however where I've eaten things so hot that I've literally cried, and I even went into a sensory overload from some particularly hot stuffed jalapenos my grandmother made once. :P They still tasted good, but they were intense as hell. For some reason though, I find hot sauces and pickled peppers aren't as intense as fresh ones. I can eat stuff made with habanero sauce all day, but fresh jalapenos can be a bit of a challenge.

I WISH we had Trader Joe's in Canada. I keep hearing all these great things about them, and I always get so jealous whenever I hear Americans talk about them online. Even if they were to come to Canada though, I don't think out liquor laws would permit for the infamous "two buck chuck" wine. :P

But anyway, the problem I have with chips isn't so much that they're loaded with salt, it's the fact that they're composed almost entirely of simple carbohydrates, and I find that I become sluggish and lethargic whenever I eat them. They taste so good though, and there's no prep work that goes with them. Salt and vinegar is my flavor of choice.

It's likely the sugar that you're addicted to as opposed to anything else in the drink.

I knew you were gonna say Coca cola, anyway I'm addicted to Stewart's Oranges & Cream soda and Cherries & Cream soda, especially with a scoop of vanilla or coconut ice cream.

None of the things here seem to add up to addiction.

If you've met people with addictions, and seen what it does to their minds, their bodies and their families, I think it would become fairly clear, fairly quickly, that liking Coke, and convincing yourself that you get back pains when you stop drinking it, is unlikely to qualify as 'addiction'.

Many people stop drinking Coke every day - they're on diets. They don't experience these symptoms. And they find it quite easy to give up. They don't like giving it up, for all sorts of social and cultural and personal reasons, but they do it with no meaningful problems.

Many people stop taking heroin every day - they're in rehab or jail or their supplier's been arrested. They all experience difficult symptoms. Real torments.

We should respect those people living with, and conquering, real addiction, and not jazz up the fact that we like this or that, and can work ourselves up into a frenzy when we don't get this or that, into being an 'addict'.

I also am 'addicted' to coke lately. I think it's the flavour, I get obsessed with a few foods/drinks at a time, and coke has much less caffiene than my last obsession, an energy drink.
My consumption is regulated by my anxiety (the double edged sword) because someone told me a friend of theirs drank a bottle of coke a day until their stomach ate itself and they died.
I try not to exceed two small cans in one day... especially because I want to have teeth in my 30s.
Oh cruel world and your consequences.

I just bought a mountain dew in a glass bottle, they have pepsi to but yeah it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup just sugar for sweetner, orange juice concentrate, citric acid, caffine and yeah some of the other random ingredients in most sodas. Tastes better than the regular kind with high fructose corn syrup cant really stand it anymore to be honest, the also had pepsi but I don't like pepsi, just mountain dew. Its better then the rollback mountain dew or whatever it is with the cane sugar because its in a glass bottle which is awesome. Its a myth that pepsi and coke taste the same but some people do claim they cannot tell the difference maybe my taste buds are more sensative. I hate if I order coke at a restaurant and they give me pepsi and if I'd known all they had was pepsi products I'd have gotten mountain dew that did actually happen once.
