Tallest kid in my class until I got to high school. I also looked young for my age, until my hair went grey. I'm 60, but if I dyed my hair, I could pass my for my mid-40s.

In fact, during the middle school years, I was the smallest. People thought I was 9 or 10 years old. At 13, I was just under 5 feet tall and weighed 77 lbs. So, bullying was a double-edged sword, both due to my small stature and my eccentric behaviours. However, today I'm medium height and weigh 200 lbs, with a noticeable muscular physique, and I haven't had any physical bullying problems for many years (just psych bullying from occasional female managers at past jobs, but that's for another thread).

So, as an adult, I most definitely did not fit the stereotype of looking like Sheldon Cooper. But growing up, I definitely looked pencil-necked and scrawny, and well, nerdy. Funny thing is, my younger brother who'd I describe as borderline autistic e.g. his only real hobby is computer programming, he's never really been into sports, he had somewhat flat nonverbal as a teen - but was otherwise sociable and was able to use theory of mind - well, get this, he was also one of the smallest in his class around the same age range as me, but today he's 6-foot-2 and not skinny but not fat either. So maybe the slow physical development during ages 8-14 is a genetic thing for those on the spectrum...who knows? 8O

No, I was always one of the tallest and used to be quite physically attractive to where women would always approach me (now it's the opposite where they ignore me when I want them to approach me). I'm about 6'2" and 135 pounds (yes, 135 and not 235). I'm taller than nearly everybody that I've met. I'm shocked that we don't have everybody claiming to be 6'4"+ on here with most saying 6'9"+ like you'd read on every forum.

Yeah, but it was the brain part that was slow growing.

Physically i was always a head bigger than everyone else. Very annoying, because people would think one older that you are, and thus confused why this adult is playing in the sand box and stuff.

All the pictures i have from school photos im like 20-30 cm higher than everyone else.

Going from age 17 to 18, i grew like 12-13 cm that year alone and went from 39 to 45-46 in shoes.

Today im 198cm not sure what that is in feet 6"4 or something.

Diet has something to say, i know as a kid i ate a lot of eggs, milk and stuff. There is a reason why asians are smaller, and its not just genetic. Often times you will see a rapid increase in their kids height, when these move to another country, and suddenly they start eating milk and such. Their diet , fish, rice and such just doesnt lead to very tall people. Im guessing its a lack of calcium.

So you can definitely help it, but again its also genetic. and tbh its really overrated to be tall. but again, us humans we always want what we cant have ey ?. Im pretty sick of buying clothes, because most of the time it has to be special ordered. Pants to short. when they are long enough its xxl and i cant wear that, i dont have big stomach like that. Same with shoes its quite hard to get 45-46.. and t-shirts, sweaters and such, well they are often to short, so they barely reach down to my pants, so im almost showing stomach kinda like the girls do. i definitely dont want that.

I know i look pretty damn skinny and fragile. and im 94 kilos, but thats just not a lot when you have my height. i imagine i could carry 100 kg, might even push it to 105 or 110 without looking more than average with that kind of muscle. Thats a lot of muscle to pack just to look average..

Just be happy with your height, there is really no sense in getting all worked up about stuff you cant change, well at least not yet.

Just looked and I always list myself as 6'1"/185 CM while my doctor says 6'2"/187-188, so I'm claiming 6'1.5"/187 CM until I can get my full height verified.

There was a thread I came across on here about a year or so ago that said the opposite to this, something like ''are Autistics generally taller than average?'' and then all these explanations came up about we have this hormone what makes us grow more or something. See, you can't really take anything seriously here, I think one person has some sort of physical or emotional trait what could be present in anybody and go round thinking it's to do with having Asperger's.

In last 3-4 years I have grown maximum 0.5 inches. I was quite short compared to others, very few people in my class were shorter than me, maybe next year I am the most shortest person in class.

I was tall but not the tallest in elementary school classes. Then, once I went to Junior High I quickly grew to 6'4" at 13. I was also paper thin, lanky and probably should have been diagnosed with scoliosis. Co-incidentally that is when the bullying started to get unbearable. I also started getting really bad acne that is only now somewhat under control.

Lest you think being taller than 99% of the population is great, I would gladly cut 6 inches off if I could. I cannot stand being tall but just like having a lifelong condition Spina Bifida or Type 1 Diabetes, you learn to live with it and try to make the best of it.

I was a small child, my mom is 4'11" and her whole side of the family are small. I always joke that my mom's side were descendents of hobbits. Kind of sucks, my cousin on my dad's side is like 6'7". I had a growth spurt pretty young so I had a year or two where I was as tall as my peers but then most past me up again. I grew to be 5'7" which is taller than most of the men on my mom's side. I'd much rather be tall than short.
