Yes, a "friend" crush. Someone I really, really want to be close friends with. I think because she interacts with people so effortlessly and has a million friends, great personality etc. She has dragged me along and introduced me to new things which I like, but she also excludes me from things. I want to be her friend way more than she wants to be mine. I can't help but feel that if we had become friends thirty years ago when we were younger, she could have helped me overcome a lot of the social challenges that I have.

Used to have some. They were my go to friends in my teenage years since no one really understood me. I would make them real by writing stories about them and I would imagine them comforting me when I felt depressed. Things like "it's OK, it's perfectly normal to be overwhelmed and not ask a girl out. That doesn't make you gay like the other kids think" or "Don't worry buddy, I flub conversations too. You're not alone."

I guess I just grew out of it as I entered the work force and started meeting more mature people who didn't judge like everyone in high school (or at least not the majority of them).

That would be me, he knows I exist and finds me odd and avoids me

I wouldn't necessarily call him an imaginary friend he's just somebody I talk to sometimes. Helren. I look up to him, he's what I wish I was, but he doesn't know how to be a friend either so I don't think we'll ever get that far. Oh and I also do the imagined hugs to fall asleep like others but that's somebody different.
