I could see how it applies. As a child learning about the world and its harshness was painful to me, and I do have some odd sensory feelings, like writing with chalk is practically painful to me or even thinking about touching certain surfaces.

Yes! it actually feels (not just "sounds") almost like when someone is scratching a board with their nails.

Yes it feels that way to me too. I can't stand just hearing someone write on a chalkboard, and I hate to touch chalk.

I relate to the Intense World Theory pretty well, though I don't think one theory is better/explains more than the other. I'm afraid I don't know much about the other theories...at least not enough to discuss them at length.

After I discovered the Intense World Theory for Autism, I realized and accepted I am on spectrum. Before, especially under the Theory of Mind and Extreme Male Brain Theory, I did't accept I could be on spectrum.

Is Intense World Theory a better explanation for the AS brain than Theory of Mind and other theories? Can you relate to Intense World?

I've read about the Intense World Theory and I definitely think it applies, though I don't think it discredits the Theory of Mind deficits that people on the spectrum tend to have. I know for a fact that I percieve most of my sensory inputs more intensely than an average person would, and that I have some difficulties with ToM as well.
