Its nice to de-stress and drown out the world with a guitar through a loud amplifier.

I cannot bear to be without my music.

I am particularly obsessed with the new songs from the Disney movie "Frozen". I enjoy singing "Let It Go" in two different languages at once, seamlessly slipping between the two. The FUN part is trying to type/write in one language and sing in another. Go on, try it. It is every bit as hard as you may think.

I love Disney songs simply because they usually involve great range and some sort of vibrato. It allows me to get more practice with my voice, which is a wonderful thing. I am thinking of performing in the local Talent Show one of these days; perhaps when I get my service dog.

I use song to de-stress and to help get through the toughest of times here at home. Essentially, music is a part of who I am. I play the keyboard and the cornet (think squished trumpet) and sing as well.

The most unfortunate part about being a singer, however, is that when you are congested (much like I am right now), you cannot sing worth anything, and that, my dear friends, is what I fear the most.

That's really funny because since I started that classical music thread I've been listening to that at work, and I was thinking, man you can't sing to this. I do love both kinds though, the kinds with words and the kind without. I was just thinking I feel very privileged to live in a time when I have access to so much music and to be able to take it with me, and this new classical music thing is amazing, but I want it all! I wouldn't want to have only either one.

Some of musicians today are amazing profound poets. Have you ever listened Regina Spektor or Counting Crows or Modest Mouse or Death Cab for Cutie or The Killers? And that's the short list.

Hey, Jen, who do you like to listen to? Maybe you can come to an opera with me in the fall.

You can dance to Mozart!! !!

No question is a dumb question unless you have already asked it.

I am under the rule of my parents, and I do whatever they say. I have always taken whatever medication they offered me. If I get offered nothing, I get no relief.

I suppose you are correct, in a sense--I need to expand my resources. I need to stop being a dependent child.

I will look it up presently, though I cannot say I will try the more, er, unconventional solutions. Thank you.

I have my classical music set up into two playlists now. MOvers and thinkers. First one for Moving to second one to Think to. ((in case that wasn't obvious). THere are a lot of both options.

I love to listen to classical piano and violin music and opera. It is good therapy when I am stressed or anytime.
Some of my favorites are:
Franz Liszt, J.S. Bach, Maurice Ravel, Gustav Holst, Ennio Morricone, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Music from the Phantom of the Opera, and most all classical music.

Great topic :) I majored in music in college and have two college degrees. I am a pianist and also been in choruses. I find music to be relaxing. I was going to pursue a masters in music and was hoping to be a music therapist helping elderly who have dementia. I don't know how big a field music therapy is. Not many colleges offer music therapy as a particular degree. With regards to music, I do enjoy Zumba very much. It's interesting though because I thought autistics have sensory issues but I'm ok in Zumba or at a concert.
