"Gibbed"?

I thought the word was "gyped" (pronounced "jipt").

Are you prouncing it like "jib" (part of a sailboat)?
Or like the name of the brothers who make up the Bee Gees?

I sounds like you got "gypped."

"Gypped," ultimately, is a slur on Egyptians/Gypsies. The shortened form of "Egyptian is where get the term "Gypsy" (for Romany people) from as well.

Even though Roms/Gypsies actually have an Indo-European origin (with the emphasis on "Indo"), they were seen, a few hundred years ago, as being Egyptians, somehow--hence, "Gypsy," then "gypped."

I have listened to some of their free stuff. I didn't really find it all that helping. I didn't find it detrimental either. Just neutral for me. So I wouldn't think of purchasing anything of theirs.

neat facts... I had no idea. And yes, I meant "gypped", although I didn't know it had a questionable origin

hidden agenda for what? I'm annoyed that i was targeted for being an aspie and had money sucked out of me. unlike you rich folks, I work on an hourly wage as my aspieness allows and disposable income is not a common thing for me.... so dont be a prick

Aspies in their 50's through 80's have it worst? I would think everyone in that age group has it the worst.... Your body starts deteriorating, many people's mental faculties start leaving them, nobody finds you attractive anymore, you can't make the money you used to make... yeah of course it is an aweful time in life. Best case scenario you'll have made a few millions but STILL feel miserable or worst case scenario you'll end up in a state funded nursing home... frankly it's all the same.

You don't have to be scared of aging... it happens to everyone

How very untrue it is for you to so glibly state that the ASD group most ignored is young adults, (oh and it just happens that you are pitching this scam website to them as the most numerous part of the group here, that's a coincidence (not).

For your information: the ASD group by far the most ignored are not young adults, but those now in their 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th decades of life.

Unless you are genuine, which I doubt, just go away please.

as far as I know, you are the only person in the
world that has paid $100 for a video. at least if I walked into a supermarket, and saw the movie Tron on the shelf, which took Hollywood millions of dollars literally to make that film, I wouldn't pay $100 for it. even though it is an awesome film. I find that most of these self-help videos and web sites online are mostly just about getting money from you. besides, the video really can't help you. only a real person, with real life interaction can help. and sadly, most of the time, those people are trying to bilk of money too.

And ya, "gypped" is not a good word to be throwing around. I mean, if you don't want to be putting down gypsies.

I think you misunderstood something here. I don't think B19 was talking to you, I think she was responding to Finch4 who only every posted once here and then sounded like a shill for Aspergers Experts:

I'm sorry you feel gipped. Did you know they have a money-back guarantee?

My experience with AE has been great so far. They discuss aspie issues from personal experience, and walk you (and your parents if you want) through understanding what is really going on and give you ways to cope. For example, they help you become aware of why you shut down under stress, and give you very specific ways to cope with stress and anxiety to avoid shutting down. It takes some work on your part, but if you listen and give it your best shot, you might be pleasantly surprised. Videos are like workshops. I couldn't care less about the quality of the video production if it gets the job done. They offer FREE live webinars where you can ask questions and they answer directly. You also can email them with questions and talk with them on the phone. The most important and different thing they do is they specifically address young adults. The one group being most ignored.

Over the years, we've spent thousands of $$ on several highly qualified psychiatrists, psychologists and counselors haven't been able to do anything but explain the diagnosis and prescribe medications. Honestly, they don't care and just don't get it. The $100 spent for what we got with AE was WAY more valuable. Who has the potential to help you deal with AS, a neurotypical doctor or someone who lives it? Of all those docs, not one would ever consider a money-back guarantee. I'm sick of following what 'normal' society tells me I should do and use 'real doctors'. 'Normal' society is the problem!

As I said, if you tried AE and you weren't happy, they have a 100% money-back guarantee. But before you give up, I hope you give it your best shot. Good luck.

Someone should pirate this BS video and spread it around just to spite them, and call them out on their money-grubbing scam.

Adamantium is correct.

I recently bought the Deep Into Defense Mode course from the Asperger Experts. I think it was around $150. We're tight on cash but I thought I'd take a chance because there's a money back guarantee, unlike with therapy. In comparison, our kid's behavioral (ABA) therapist charged $200 an hour, does not take insurance, and we'd just recently quit her after three completely useless sessions.

I liked the course, have been able to successfully apply the techniques, and did not ask for a refund. I initially got it to help us support our 7-year old aspie son who has huge meltdowns over any requests to do anything whether it is getting dressed so he makes the school bus or doing homework. But was pleasantly surprised with the insight it gave me into my own behaviors and anxieties related to my Aspergers, my own "defense mode." I wasn't expecting that either, it was a bonus.

Who cares of they are making a profit? People should be compensated for their work. If you think it's too pricey, don't buy it. For parents who have spent thousands on therapies with no results, this will seem pretty inexpensive. And if it doesn't work for them, well there's the refund.

I've been thinking about this more and have another thing I want to share. I hope I can articulate what has been on my mind.

I wanted to support these guys. Yes my family needed the help. But I also wanted to get it from them because they are autistic and open about it and proud of their first-hand experience-based approach. I want to support autistic-owned small businesses. It seems like all the assistants and helpers they employ are also on the spectrum. That means a lot to me. This program is for autistics, by autistics. It was refreshing and felt good, because every therapy-based approach we had ever invested in prior to this was with NT therapists and was conformity-based.

haha it has a meaning after all, in urban dictionary anyway

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gibbed

Any act in which a person or persons get screwed over without their knowledge or consent.

When someone you know unplugs the power from your device without your knowledge.
