I think an interesting spin on this question is how would the two worlds develop if there wasn't a switch so much as evolution just happened that way. Both AS and NT people make contributions to society, and both groups seem to have extremes that make contributions that people in the other group cannot (although there is quite a bit of overlap). I think modern society wouldn't exist without both, but both worlds could be very similar or very different.

The OP himself agreed that this "wrongplanet" meme is just poetic license for "not fitting in", and that its ignent folks who need to be sent to spaceward (regardless of their neurology), and not NTs.

If anything autism spectrum folks differ from EACH OTHER in thinking more than NTs differ from each other (despite the fact that NTs are the fifty-to-a hundred times larger group. So this hypothetical autistic planet would not necessarily be some unified culture of mutual understanding. There might be less understanding between spectrumites than there is between NTs in NT society.
