I can be super protective of my special interests because I take them very personally. Sometimes I ramble on and on about them without really realizing it but sometimes I can not talk about them at all because I like for the person I am talking to to be worthy of my special interest. Like if I talk about skiing, I will be very frustrated if the person I am talking to is a moron and insists that he knows about skiing when he doesn't. So I can be very selective about whom I share my special interests with.

Yes, I usually keep my interests and obsessions private. There's no one to share them with anyway. *sigh*

I actually DON'T like talking about my interests.

I'm not trying to hide them, I just don't like discussing them.

That's too bad. I was going to ask you about your interest in txf because it's a favorite of mine recently. haha. :D

Yeah I know this feeling. It makes me sad when people say negative things about stuff I love. They often don't understand it and never really tried to in the first place.

I don't think it is uncommon to keep obsessions a secret. I know I do, although I don't know if mine would qualify as "obsessions". Even if they do, I prefer call it a favourite topic or a topic of interest. I only talk about my obsessions/topics of interest when someone asks me about it. But if I'm obsessed or interested in something that I think others may find weird, then I keep it to myself.

I like to keep so many secret because I feel that they are mine and nobody elses. I sometimes hate when people talk about my favourite movies or shows, especially (and this sounds super bad, I know) if they're not worthy.

I keep my obsessions/special interests a secret, too....I just learned early on that everything I liked was stupid and immature and that no one cared to hear about it. :? The only place I talk about my special interests and obsessions at all is here, pretty much.
