And of course, after I started this thread, I began reading "How to Win Friends, and Influence People." A counselor I met with told me it would be a good book to read.

The whole first chapter is about not complaining or criticizing other people. I did pretty good with it over the weekend. But now that my work week has started - we will see how long I last.

Just like Jeopardy like it answers in the form of a question. NT's can be the same way when it comes being corrected. here is a good example of what I mean.

A person tells me, "Look at the soft fluffy clouds. Wouldn't it be great to lay down on those big wads of soft cotton. A place like that would truly be heaven."

A respectable response to that statement would be: "Hum! I was taught in my science class that clouds where semi-condensed water vapor and have no solid surface to them. BTW: have you ever flown on a jet plane before? I heard that jets fly through them as if they where ghosts."

An autistic person might say, "No! you got it all wrong. clouds are semi-condensed water vapor and have no solid surface to them at all. If you try to stand on a cloud, you'll fall through it as if it wasn't there. Go fly on a jet. That will prove that I am right.".

A disrespectful response to that statement would be: "What the hell are you smokin man! Where did you come up with that delusional fantasy? everybody in there right mind know that clouds are semi-condensed water vapor and have no solid surface to them at all. Go fly on a jet plane and find out for yourself, before you make such a stupid statement.".

Hopefully, this will put thing into perspective for you Freddie.

On a really good day - I will respond in a respectable manner. But most of the time, I end up with a mix of the latter two versions.

More along these lines: "Did you know that clouds are semi-condensed water vapor and have no solid surface to them at all. I honestly can't believe that you think you could lay down on there. Not to mention that the air at that altitude is too thin, and you would have great difficulty breathing. Do you really believe that? You probably think that the Moon is made of cheese too. How is it living in a land with unicorns and rainbows?"
