People that go 10+ below the limit make me feel like I'm going to have a stroke.

yeah, it's those times that make me wish I had the ability to levitate and soar on past them. Image

KITT, Turbo Boost, now!

turbo won't magically make sufficient gaps in the oncoming traffic stream that otherwise defeats passing. that is where the magic carpet technology comes in Image
the moller 400 skycar can't come soon enough!

Wow, what were you in that was going 280km/h?
My 600hp race car in rFactor (racing sim) has a hard time hitting 280 with the gearing, aero and boost settings I use on most tracks. Usually at Watkins Glen I hit 275-280km/h approaching the Outer Loop.

Oh, 'turbo boost' on Knight Rider made his car jump. Looking back the name of the button bugs me, but I digress... :P

then I suppose my reflexes would have to keep up- maybe a useful new technology would be a wetware/hardware sync link between KITT and its human driver. or if KITT would do it hyper-intelligently and automatically without driver input.

KITT could drive himself.
And talk.

Damn, now I wanna watch Knight Rider.

80mph in my old VW van, now that was fast!

I only like to go fast on a bicycle. I drive whatever speed everyone else is +- 5mph.

That top speed was downhill and with the wind.

I always liked the way they drove, like I was driving a real bus.

Where do you live where the speed limit is 80? The fastest where I live is the major high way (70). Otherwise, it's 55 in the country and 35 in town. BTW, are you driving 100 in a manual or an automatic?

I like going fast, but the fastest I go is when I am on the high way (80). Otherwise, I only go 60 in the country. I like the feeling of going fast but I also feel like I am going to lose control (which I don't like).

If you noticed. the speed he is talking about is in kilometers per hour. not miles per hour. 130Km/h = 81mph.

Unfortunately yes! The last ticket I got was for speeding - I blame classical music for this. Was listening to a really good piece and just went lead-foot on the accelerator. Nutz huh??
The ticket was a "wise-up" for me. The officer was irate!! Have to pay it now.

Driving has always given me anxiety. I've had to learn to deal with it but sensory overload is an issue and I'm very defensive, not trying to hurt anyone. It frustrates me a lot how people drive in California, they are always in such a hurry just to gain a few minutes of their lives and it doesn't seem to register for them that they are traveling at dangerous speeds in a steel monster that weighs thousands of pounds. I miss living in Oregon because people were by and large more sane about the whole affair, it's not cool to kill a whole family because you like to drive fast. Young people make me nervous.

the officer had no legal right to be "irate" in that he is just an official of revenue collection with crook catching strictly secondary. he had the moral obligation to remain professional at all times.

it is an "urban myth" that speed kills. according to the NHTSA, 90% of auto accidents occur at speeds below 40mph and within 25 miles from home.
