Don't like this idea as people would end up blocking me. :(

for what its worth to you, I would not block you unless you were abusive to me. I am tolerant to a fault. it would be a feature intermediated by the moderators and judged appropriate on a case-by-case basis.

I appreciate that but I still dislike the idea. Ignoring users tends to be "oh they like something I don't like" or "they bugged me one time" and then they ignore them. When for all they know they might have gotten along in the future.

A lot of forums have ignore buttons, or foe/friend options, and I'm sure some use them willy-nilly, but when someone is really bugging you, without them having actually done anything that breaks the rules, then it would be a very good thing. The way it works is that people access it from their UCP and no one is the wiser.

I hope there will never be any type of like buttons on here. The last thing we need is to make WP into yet another popularity contest. We're ostracized enough as it is. There are plenty of places already to avoid because of that.

I can tell you from personal experience that there are times when it is better to be ignored.

Many of the suggestions above are very good, and then I'd also like to add that it would be much better for all the forums to only be accessible to members, rather than just the "Members Only Discussion." That way the website is more private.

I would prefer all "our" forums to be private to "us" with two forums - one for NTs generally who have questions or are seeking advice, and one for parents seeking support, to which we have access. So in a nutshell we would have access to them all, outsiders would be restricted (and intensively moderated for inappropriate slurs and hatespeech).

Separate section for "Am I autistic?" type questions

More options and updating for diagnostic status question.
I may not like it but the DSM 5 has been out 1 1/2 years. Choices should reflect it.
Split undiagnosed into "Seeking professional diagnosis", "Self diagnosed - Seeking Professional diagnosis", "Self Diagnosed Not seeking Professional diagnosis. "

Signature - Allow more characters"

Allow change of user name

As has been often discussed moderate with the understanding that this is a support site
Moderate more consistently
If moderating is going to vary by section give clear, detailed notice. Don't assume autistic users are just going to "get it" that Love and Dating is going to be moderated radically differently then the Haven.

Attempt to be funny: If user has been on WP 24 hours straight a message appears suggesting user relieve themselves, eat, drink and go to sleep.

The one thing that comes to mind is being notified when people respond to you. There's only one forum I've been on that has it but it makes it a lot easier.

I'm not sure if I understood you right. Do you mean that WP should have 3 aspie forums - one for us, one for NT parents, and one for other NTs, and that NTs wouldn't have access to the one that is for us only?
If that's what you mean, then I would kinda like that, because there are times when I find it hard to write about stuff here because anyone, especially NTs, can see it. There have been some NTs here who have made me extremely uncomfortable and self-conscious, so a place they can't see would be a good thing.

OTOH, there are times when NT input can be helpful and welcome, even asked for (but seldom received). So do we need 4 forums about AS then?
Not that the 4th one is needed, for NTs just go where they can get their questions answered, and ignore things we ask about, which is why I usually avoid helping NTs with their questions. I never get what I need so CCB. I'm so fed up with how little resource there is for us and how hard it is to find the info one needs because it just isn't anywhere to be found, and there are only so many one can ask these things. How are we gonna learn anything when things aren't obvious for us?

I don't see having more forums helping though, since anyone can lie about their diagnosis (and gender, which is the only reason I see for not having females only in the women's section).

Destroy the site entirely and re-make it. While keeping people's account info intact.

Seriously, this place is a glitch-bomb. I go to alot of sites for alot of different things... but few are as glitched and generally annoying as this. There is one, and only one, that tops it, and that's Youtube. NOTHING can top Youtube in this category.

As it is, I only barely post, because it's hard to tolerate this accursed place.

I wish there were more LFA people here so we could learn from their input. There are times when my symptoms cause some trouble and I wonder what it feels like for people on the other end of the spectrum who have to do stuff like wearing special headgear.
