I find earplugs extremely helpful. I wore them in school a lot and placed myself near a wall if I could so I could block out background noise. I also wear hats a lot to block out sound (winter hat) or light (ball cap , brim hat). At work I can't but I vocally stim to help regulate myself to the background noise, when there is a lot of it.

I put earplugs in and my noise cancelling headphones over top of them when I'm getting frustrated or if my ears are really sensitive at the moment.

I want to find a pair that I can wear in public (I'm currently using my dad's old ones that he used to use)

I don't & think wearing em to block out noise would make things more noisy & I'd miss out on hearing important things. I tend to zone out & don't pay much attention to things anyways which sometimes gets me in to trouble.

I also wear earplugs, all the time, even at home because I have noisy children.
I find them to be more discrete when I am in public as well.

I wear the very soft and fit my small ears they are called Macks "Dreamgirl"

Every time i leave my house i make sure i have my ipod, its like my security blanket and makes me feel safe.
Also if i have headphones in i think it stops people from talking to me.

I wear noise-cancelling headphones with music every time I go out. When I am on the Underground (hardly ever due to meltdowns) I add earplugs underneath my headphones, but with no music.

I wear earplugs at night, and during the day I often wear headphones with either white noise or occasionally music. Especially on days following disruptions in my routine, by blocking out sounds that bother me wearing the headphones allow me to get calmed down sooner.
